  • I have no doubts of the effectiveness of these techniques. But I have yet to see a full speed demonstration.

  • too slow of an attack

  • Awesome but I heard Nicki Manji in the background for a sec. Lol

  • I wonder how this lady would handle herself with 6feet tall strong rapist with a knife in real life.

  • @swifty1969 Pretty much the same thing... That strong 6 feet tall strong rapist would end up with broken wrists, elbows or shoulders, your pick!

  • Good work. The forms are well

  • It is a pity that the video is out of focus. Like the practice so the video, one hopes. Thank you.

  • its reversed if he's going for the opposite side of the body right? what if he is slashing?

  • @sacura605 from the bottom up?

  • wow

  • I can see that you mean well, but much practice is still needed. The techniques were simple at best, but your Uke needs alot of work with his Ukemi Waza. Not a good reflection of someone who is supposed to be in a hakama. Sorry, not trying to offend.

  • Excellent.

  • not

  • Someone goes after me with a knife, I take his eyes out. Because my getting stabbed sends a very bad message to my friends and family :) And I hate getting stabbed or cut :) Having said that, if I were to use a knife, I would use it as an extension of my hand. I would punch or kick and stab or slash as part of my punch-kick combinations. Pain is a great distractor, and you must be wary of a knife hand slash or stab as a follow up to an effective punch or kick. Close up, I really hate knives :)

  • nice, keep training.

  • who atacks with the knife like that... Jesus

  • @WW3seeker it`s just a couple basic technics, don`t be so stupid!!!! any one attack like that and all of us know it!

  • @WW3seeker . You are right...nowadays nobody attacks with a knife like that.( In samurai times they did because japanese respect distance and they were more rigid). However, I have many years of aikido training and I can tell you something -AIKIDO TEACHES YOU HOW TO MOVE- and thats all you need to avoid getting stabbed. Now, combine that with punches and kicks and you have a powerfull form of self defense =)

  • @cjrllanosnj I bought a gun already, but thanks for advice anyway.

  • @cjrllanosnj

LOL, how good to know you were alive during the Samurai days

  • @Derukugi2 Its simple: If all you want is learn how to kick ass, train in mma. If you are looking to train in a traditional martial art, do karate, aikido, wing chun, etc...Thats how I see this subject

  • @cjrllanosnj Or look at people who train traditionally but use it in a modern setting. They are out there look up Shifu Yan Lei he is a real shoaling monk who left and teaches modern forms of his art. He is real and effective.

  • @Empha84 Yes. I think everything depends on the teacher. However, you always have to look at the context where the art belongs. Each traditional martial art was developed in a certain point in time, where the cultural setting, the attacks, the weapons, everything was completely different from the modern world. Aikido is the art of the samurai and the samurais fought in a weapons setting (sword, jo , tanto). So all of aikido techniques where developed to defend against those weapons.

  • @Empha84 ...so aikido indeed can help you in many ways if you are attacked on the streets now, but the real purpose of it was meant for the point in time where the predecessor art (aikijujutsu) was developed.

  • @cjrllanosnj true that is what my uncle tells me he is a black belt in it.

  • this is very nice the only thing is wrong is focusing too much in catching the hand which could be very dangerous

  • @aimanturani Getting attacked by a knife is more dangerous o.0
