  • Interesting opening, perhaps a teensy bit too many vamp bars but a refreshing change to rushing into the song as many productions do. Allows more impact for the chorus too.

  • shit, 2:00 min of the same 16 notes, that's an effort :/ great lighting though :)

  • LMAO at the solo singer chantal i think her name is

  • Ive just found out today that the group that i did La cage with twice before are planning

on staging this fab show again in 2012!

Cant wait! Might even try for the lead instead of a Cagelle I'll be old enough by then i think :/

Anyway much excitment! Who need the Olympics when you've got this show to look forward to eh? he he he

  • It may seem boring on this video but usually as each of the cagelles "reveals" themselves to the audience they flirt or mouth "i love you" or some other flirty remark.

I adore this show and have been lucky to perform in it twice. once as Mercedes and then 3 yrs later as Chantal, both times with the same company and we played to totally sold out houses throughout both runs.

Got some fantastic memories from this show. thanks for posting.xx

  • well folkd after the broadway version this is dull and tasteless to me. sorry

  • I've never seen this show, but I totally want to now! I smiled the whole time watching this! The tap number at the end is my favorite part. OH, how I love a broadway finale.

  • I never know why the directors don't cut all of the vamping at the beginning of this show.

Really great otherwise, especially the sound.

  • wonderful, superb marvellous such fun!!!! Love it!!!!

  • wow,I can't wait to see thai version...

  • great use of the original choreo with some new updated stuff. Great job! The set is one of the best ive seen too for this show. I ve played Chantal and Mercedes and I could do this show forever...so much fun! Thanks for sharing!

  • I did the show 3 times. Once at the Bert Reynolds Dinner Theatre in Florida as A Cagelle as "Angelique" and 2 times for Stages St. Louis as Francis 1990 Florida 93 and 2003 st. Louis Such fun Still performing. Great video Where was this?

  • we used the costumes from Stages =)

  • Yes i sent you an email They were great costumes. Built by Tim Kent in 1993. Love that show. i'm doing Rocky Horror here in Pittsburgh Now. Scooter here. great Clip. Very clean.

  • @Mrperfect580 I love Stages, even though i never get casted in any of their shows. oh well it's still fun to go and watch shows there too.

  • Come and see our version @ Rivoli — Porto Portugal!

Better performance, better wardrobe, better music...

  • great brings back memories. I did this in glasgow in 92 and we repeated it until 95. I would love to do it again - yes i was that young!!!! He He

    Loved this

  • Good work, folks. Just trying, in my mind, to get around the performing of "la Cage" in South Carolina without having major protests going on outside the theatre as it is a part of the homosexual agende, bringing this sin tainted show to SC. But, I am wrong and it seemd that all enjoyed it without disruption, so far. Bravo, show. Bravo, SC. ps...am not saying that the South is backwards, just that the South tends to be more vocal in its condemnation and exclusion of certain groups of people.

  • Sorry, I said it was SC but did not read clearly and do not know if it was South or North. It is is NC, I could just picture Jesse Helms, in his grave, rolling voer in protestation that this was happening his his state. Again, am not criticizing the South, I lived in Carboro, just the vocal extremists whom we all, north and south, hear so often, judging, accusing, while they, for example, are schtooping their ladies in Argentina...only an example!! Ok....send the messages.

  • I did this 15years ago - brings back great memories - loved that opening number and the reveal and parade. Great production of it - where is this and who is this?

  • Hilton Head SC

  • ooohhh

i'm doin this 4 the summer festival at my college XD

    cant wait!!!

  • id love to do this show but all of those vamp bars :/ if i was in the audience i would have fallen asleep the director made a very bad decision to do that but good singing.

  • you cant see how the actors are using their faces on a blurry video......and the director did what the original bway production did. Which won just a few awards. foolish.

  • Huh??? What are "vamp bars"? Just curious. BTW...in my opinion, this is a tough show to fall asleep in as the musical numbers are loud and flamboyant and the undertone, the romance between the 2 leads, is indeniably so sweet and thoughtful. It is a great show as apropos now as it was when first put on at the Palace, I think, in '87! Although much has changed since then, there are still those out there protesting this show saying it is perverse and profane and part of the "gay agenda." LOL!

  • @tomjomoore Its actually written in the score to play the 4 measure repeat 13 times...

  • god i'd kill to do this show...but sadly i can't tap dance....*cries.

  • I love those 4 notes over and over again.

  • Where the hell are they- a brilliant opening!

  • WORK! LIIIIIIINDA!
