  • where can i watch the next bit with moira? i saw this episode on tv but i cant find the clip of moira anywhere.. :(

  • I saw Nana on Joanna Lumley's Greek odyessey. she was great!!

  • In light of Mrs Mouskouri's comments about "Greeks need to pay their debts". I ask her to direct this question to the Germans, and tell them to pay THEIR debts to Greece!. While she is at it, she can ask from all the European countries to repay their debts to Greece, from all they have stolen and exploited from her. Mrs Mouskouri is welcome also to conduct a campaign on Greece's behalf for this purpose since she feels so patriotic in her swiss residence (:

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • Love it so much

  • This is what Benny Hill is making fun of:

Copy and paste in the YouTube search:

Nana Mouskouri - Το παραθύρι / La Fenêtre (1968)

  • that is absolutely hilarious!

  • 3 persons didnt meet their lovers by the eucalyptus tree!

  • @CNicol40 Is 'the PC Brigade' some kind of slang term for kidney failure? If not, why bring bigoted Daily Mail politics into it?

  • @tbc87 You're the one who mentioned bigoted Daily Mail politics noone else has. Stupid comment.

  • @tbc87 Ben Elton was one of the biggest critics of Benny Hill and he is about as far away from Daily Mail politics as you can get.

  • greece crete

  • Yes please post the Moira Anderson part. That's the funniest one!

  • Almost forgot about his Nana Mouskouri impression, lol

  • Great comedy is all about timing, and Benny Hill got the comic timing absolutely perfect at 0:59 in this clip

  • Always funny.Bring us pleasure.The best comedian.Do not like mr Bean-too stupid Vadim/Russian

  • She is Greeeeeek!

  • "I exaxso, I'm an axso, minnie minnie abachi exaxso"

  • i wish you would have played the next one. when he sings that high E...haha hilarious

  • Benny's forever! Peace to you.

  • I'd love to see his take on Raymond Burr's " Ironside" .....anyone?

  • Does anyone have the sketch after this one?

  • this next song is about a boy counting the days until christmas. january the 1st, january the 2nd, january the 3rd, january the...

  • And she gets to the eucalyptus tree....and her lover doesn't come. Inspired! Thanks for all the laughs you gave us over the years Benny, we'll never forget you.

  • This was in the 70`s. I remember it well. Sound is not so good and I am pretty deaf now but it was a song about a girl who went to meet her lover under a tree. And she was asked by 3 different boys in a row if they could whisper sweet nuthings into her hair and kiss her. But she refused as she was waiting to meet her lover. The English was ten times as long as the Greek song. And the joke is that in the end her lover never turned up.

  • Go Nana!!!!! This clip is freaking priceless....exaxso....

  • what great timing

  • Someone musy have the next sketch where he spoofs Moira Anderson. And also as Mary O'Hara, with her feet round the harp and stuck in a bucket of water.

  • Wish I could see the sketch that follows. Was one of the funniest ever.

  • I LOVE THIS ONE

  • And now here is a little song about a boy who is counting the days 'til Christmas.... January the 1st... January the 2nd....

  • Exaxo.....

  • OMG, I saw this many many many moons ago and it made laugh so hard back then and today. Benny was one of the kings of comedy!!

  • I remember laughing at this sketch many years ago. I've just watched a documentary on BBC4 about Nana Mouskouri. In her BBC shows of the 60s and 70s she would provide long explanations for the songs she sang in Greek before singing them; this is hilarious. It's a shame Benny was killed off by the PC brigade.

  • @CNicol40 What is the 'PC Brigade?'

  • @mysticmeg111 The "PC Brigade" refers to the "Politically Correct" brigade. In the 80s and 90s a new generation of British comedians including Ben Elton went on a crusade against old style comedy which they saw as sexist and racist. In Benny Hill's case he was seen as primarily sexist with the end of show chase involving scantily clad young females. Ben Elton was particularly vociferous in his criticism of Benny and in the midst of this Benny Hill's show was cancelled in 1989.

  • @BillyBronco73

Well i think in that case time served justice...even zulu tribes or eskimos know Benny Hill!!! :P

  • Anyone know if it was Benny Hill who did a sketch on Demis Roussos? He was sitting under his cloak with bellows and as Roussos walks away his voice went low, or was it Freddie Starr...?

  • Benny Hill did a sketch of Demis Roussos and Nana Moskouri singing a duet. Excellent!!

  • Saw this when I was a kid back in the

'70s and laughed until I nearly ruptured myself. I Have not been able to watch Nana Mouskouri without laughing ever since!!! A very funny man Benny Hill, a very sad day when he fell off the perch.

  • Great stuff!

  • One of my favourite Benny Hill moments - last time I saw it was on British TV in the 70s and great to see it again. Thanks for uploading!

  • I love you benni hill! Why did you fuckin die my love!

  • opa nana sagapo

  • I am Greek, and a fan of Benny Hill shows, and did not know that he portrayed Nana Mouskouri! This is hilarius! Thanks a lot for uploading this.

  • I've had this clip stuck in my head for years.

    Thank you, youtubes.

  • Hi-La-Rious!

    This is the best!

"And now here's a song about a little boy counting the days 'til christmas: january the 1st, january the 2nd, january..."

  • I just love Benny Hill! ... But I don't quite understand what the exact point of this mock-up is ...

I can only guess ... Is it that the introduction to this is song is ten times longer than the song itself?

  • That's right, Nana Mouskouri used to explain her greek songs in a long long long way

  • So funny! Anybody know what year this is from?

  • Greg, here's a hilarious clip of Benny Hill spoofing Greek singer Nana Mouskori, you gotta remember this one from the old days when the show was on Channel 11 on late Sunday nights!!
