if he fixed the overfuelling which is causing the black smoke - it would beat the other car. Black smoke = LESS POWER. Too much diesel is being injected, so it soots up the manifold and turbo leading to premature failure AND LESS POWER. Fix the air/fuel ratio - get shut of the smoke and it will drive far faster and have more power. SMOKE=LESS POWER and it looks crap. Go and learn about diesel engines, avoid cheap tuning boxes as they don't work, they ruin the engine and cause black smoke.

that smoke is because of a boosted launch. think about it before u talk, if you hit 2500 rpms to get decent boost there is really no load hence the smoke. besides ive seen people smoke like that with mods without a chip, though that was probably a custom tuned chip. and think of it this way that truck weighs atleast 4000lbs more than that svt cobra. duh

The only way they produce alot of smoke is like you said they are boosting at low rpms and when the turbo spools up it clears up, it does look like that the turbo it was running may be too small like a stock turbo, I had the same problem when I put the Edge programmer on mine and it was OK for a little while, I ended up putting a bigger turbo on it and problem fixed and it really throws you into the seat and don't hardly smoke and that is with stage 1 injectors from EDE and a EGR delete kit.

I bought it from a used car lot. I think it was called Fuentes Auto Sales Corp. here in Miami. I got here a year and a half ago for $4000. She had 54k miles and was in great shape. I've put over 20k miles on it with no problems. Just diesel in the tank once and a small crash yesterday.
