  • I met them around this year they were so humble polite and lovely in person love this group ;)

  • I like this a lot, great voice:)

  • I love "live in the studio/radio station" recordings. It really shows how talented a band is. Eisley is one of those bands, along with Local Natives, Freelance Whales, and M83. Thanks for the upload.

  • Stacy's voice is so beautiful <3

  • Does anyone know how Stacy gets that modulated, almost watery, sound from her keyboard? I love that sound, and I'd really like to know what produces it.

  • @LovePeaceNFreedom it's a rhodes. that's just how they sound. and maybe there's a tremolo or chorus effects pedal involved somewhere (apart from the sustain pedal).

  • Love love love this version. I wish I could find a good tab.

  • any of these girls sings to me and i'm gonna fall in love

  • What a lovely song<3;) [my name's Sandra too:D!]

  • This song makes me want to name a future daughter Sandra.

  • @Keckilpenny my names sandra :3

  • @Keckilpenny My mother's name(:

  • Noooo! I just listened to the album version for the first time and realized that it does not do justice to the beauty of the song like this version does. Whyyyyy???

  • @LovePeaceNFreedom

There's a live version on Itunes that is really really awesome though.

  • This song is so beautiful it gives me chills, I love Eisley!

  • I loove this song! and the fact my name is sandra is just a bonus

  • Trully amazing! Those girl's know exactly how it's done! ^^

  • i love them!!

this is my favorite song :)

    gosh, they're amazing

  • you mean "golly," they're amazing, ;) <3

  • I LOVE IT.

  • love this song :)

  • me too haha thanks for showing it to me :)

  • i love these guys. Their music puts me in such a joyous place. I can't help but smile when I listen to their music.

    Felicity

  • OK please don't get me wrong, I love this song. But the brunette in the middle is playing the biggest acoustic guitar in terms of body shape, I have ever seen! It's all good. But holy shit! That is a huge instrument.

  • That's a jumbo acoustic, louder with more low end. A mellower sound which fits well with Eisley's music. But yeah, it does dwarf Sherri.

  • Thanks Outerzoom! Actually I found an excellent article in Acoustic Guitar (the best guitar mag ever) from December 2008 that shows the range of body styles, from "Parlor" the smallest, right up to "Jumbo"

Check out Acoustic Guitar December 2008. It's worth it just for for the excellent Bossa Nova lesson.

  • Their songs have such an ethereal quality to them, eerily beautiful.

  • her voice is amazing!!! sounds so beautiful on this :) x

  • wow. her voice is so exquisite.

  • Haha i've loved this band since i was 8!

  • Heh, I first listened to them when I was in 5th grade, and now I'm in 10th!

    : D

Eisley has just gotten even more beautiful since then.

<3 They will always be my favorite.

  • I'm an 11th grader and I Love Eisley!

  • cista petica <5

  • Eto Sandra barem jedna pjsema postoji, a i nije losa za moj pojam!!! ka da sam ju ja napisao :-/

  • These chicks rock!! Thanks.

  • simply angelic <3

  • I don't think so. Stacy was probably 16 at the time of this recording, so I suppose one could make the argument that she looks like a very old 12 year old (but not the average). Sherri and Chauntelle couldn't fit the description.

  • i was in 9th grade, too...eisley was among my first fav bands along with copeland, death cab, underoath, and the shins...some crazy days :)

  • whoa.

are we twins? i loved the same music in 9th grade too. with the exception of copeland, i don't know them.

but i still love those bands!

  • Eisley is one of my fav bands, AND IM A 9TH GRADER TOO OMG!

  • Woot! Me too.

  • i remember hearing this song back in 9th grade. it truly got me into eisley. :D

  • I would do all of them.

  • im trying to tab out what chauntelle is playing, any idea what tuning?

  • I'd assume just standard EADGBE

  • theyre so cool, i wanna start a band like them

  • Her voice is like something from Alice in Wonderland. Magical.

  • i will openly admit that i am not a christian. in fact, i am ANTI-christian. but seriously.....this shit is beautiful as fuck

  • is that a good thing..............

  • 1:10 onwards my fav part...the guitar playing is just so...nice.... ;)

  • stacy dupree.... oh my goooood!

  • That Gretsch is one nice guitar! The chick singing lead reminds me of Kate Bush. Not the way she looks, just the tone and phrasing of her vocals.

  • OMFG EISLEY!!

  • Yep, whatever you say, Andy !! Big fan of Eisley, are you?

  • "You look so beautiful it hurts me slightly". I know what she means.

  • for some reason i always thought it was Sherri that sung the lead. it never sounded like Stacy to me. even after seeing this and playing the cd again. its still amazing.

  • this is already one of my favorite songs of theirs, but this version is so beautiful! oh Eisley, they never cease to amaze me.

  • they are the most phenomenal averagegirls i ever saw

  • Golly, a natural voice as beautiful as a waterfalllllll

  • my name is sandra!heheheee

  • well, golly, you've grown up really crazy.

  • hahah

  • I can't get over how cute Sherri's voicce is ! <3

  • i can't get over how beautiful the keyboard player is

  • Thats my girl Stacy!! lol

  • Wow the one on the piano is so amazingly Hot.

  • to quote someone from along time ago

    this is ga-ga-ga-great!

  • They're all wearing chucks. :)

  • i think its about kayla. oh you are my scar, oh i should have been there to sing you to sleep they were touring none stop when she was little, you look so beautiful it hurts me slightly it would suck not to see your kid everyday. i saw kayla in detriot she is so cute looks just like chauntelle only dark hair.i think it is cause they wont say what it is cause they dont want her in the public eye if it is. she is so cute shes going to be an awesome indie kid when she grows up

  • Well Stacy wrote the song so I'm pretty it's not about her. In fact, I think I've heard that she said its about a father to his daughter. Probably him lamenting about how crazy his daughter and what he's done wrong and how he still loves her.

  • yeah but that doesnt make sense about the line " oh you are my scar" it make more sense that its a mother daughter thing

  • I was thinking it would be about a mother and a daughter but I'm just saying that I heard somewhere that Stacy wrote it about a father to his daughter. I guess we can interpret it however we want, but I think it would still make sense with "oh you are my scar" if you take it metaphorically. It doesn't have to be literally a scar from labor. And you never know, "Sandra" might have cut him and left a scar with how crazy she is. >_>

  • it's "you are my star"

    which makes more sense

  • actually, im not sure which one it is

because i saw a video of this live and it does sound like "scar"

  • ya sry but its scar

  • i'm sure she says "star" on this video but on the album she says "scar" idk why. i even double checked the lyric book a few minutes ago its "scar". but you're so right. "star" does make more sense, and its prettier.

  • Yeah because, as everyone knows, you should ALWAYS pick the most obvious and clichéd lyrics. Lyrics should always be "prettier", right?

  • im pretty sure she says "oh, you are my star"

  • yup

  • its scar

  • yea room noises is stinkin great

  • Can't believe they are so young, and can sing these types of songs. Wonder what kind of music they are inspired by - this song is like something from a long time ago, 1930s.

  • they sound amazing. and they are fantastic live.

  • i love this song xxx

  • i sometimes prefer their studio versions over the recorded material. eisley is amazing!

  • Room Noises is their best album so far

  • not so bad......man she dare me

  • shes saying scar

  • The original lyric is scar, but this version she says star, its clear as day.

  • i think you'll find if u listen to the recorded song its star, and she says star in this as well although it sounds like scar

  • Really like this performance.

  • What is this song about and what do you call this kind of music, Eclectic or something? It is catchy though.

  • i am not sure what it is about but it is Indie.

  • It's about their sister Sandra?....

  • not sure what the song is about for sure, but to me it sounds like Stacy is singing from the view of a parent who is losing their child, and feels responsible, and wants to let her/him know that she always loved them and tried to do right.

As far as music, Eisley is categorized as indie/rock. They have a lot of folk/rock touches in their music too though.

  • shes so hot! (stacy)

  • She's such a good performer, so much like how Regina Spektor is onstage.

  • the original lyric is scar, but she says star here. you can here the "st" sound it's WAY different from "sc"

  • G-g-g-golly Sandra! you've grown up really crazy... have I been too denying of you? G-golly Sandra! you've grown up so crazy.... have I been too untrusting? To take me down to the bridge where you know that I've always loved you and I'll go without stopping Oh you are my scar and that's not really far Hey, hey
  • If you can just look at Stacy's lips. its "star" it would make any sense if it was scar.

  • well, the actual lyrics and what's sung on the album version is scar. i know they like to mix lyrics up when they play live though.

  • they are all wearing converse

  • It is scar.

  • it's star. why would someone says that if it's "scar" it's not really far?

    make some sense.

  • it is scar...

  • It's scar. Read the booklet that comes with the CD.

  • it makes sense if you don't eat shit for breakfast.

  • I believe the lyric is scar.

although, star and scar could both make sense but each would change the meaning of the song completely, I think.

  • I could've sworn it was scar too, but it sounds just like she says star.

  • the word is scar. derrr.

andi like this version better than the cd version:]

  • this band is awesome.

  • you could sing that Sampson song...nice voices

  • It makes more sense that Sandra would be her 'Scar' then her 'Star' considering the rest of the lyrics.

  • okay my name is sandra.. wuts the song abt?

  • G-g-g-golly, I love this song. I love this band.

  • I love this band. The vibes so mythical and reminds me of Julie Andrews voice. LOVE EM!

  • LOL Sherri at the end!

  • SO FINE!!

  • Their voices are amazing.

  • does anyone know the tabs to this song? i cant find it anywhere :[

  • d maj. to b min should get you started for verse.

and i'll' go is not a chord watch the video for position.

oh you are my scar is d maj then dim b maj. then dim

hey eh is g maj to e min

  • thankyouuuu <3

  • just listen to it dear, and try playing a few chords with it, if you still cant figure it out, you can message me back and i can write some tabs up for you, if you'd like.

  • sweeet

  • OmG eisley can really blow my minds off completely!

Im sooo in love with them!eisley rocks!

  • to take me down to the bridge where you know that i've always loved you...

  • Oh, you are my star and that's not really far, hey

    <3

  • Actually, I checked the lyrics the other day and it's "scar", not "star." I thought it was star for the longest time.

  • LOL I thought it was star also...every time I would sing along to it or sing it by myself I would say star. I figured it out recently XD

  • "Oh you are my 'scar' and thats no really far"??? I dont think so... =S

  • According to the album, that is what the lyrics are. Check the booklet yourself; unless they made a typo, that's how the song goes.

  • When you write lyrics, they usually only make sence to you.

  • yes, KHV is right.

It is indeed you are my scar.

and it DOES make sense! =]

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, OMG it does! I so get it now!

  • i'm pretty sure that is the word

    *scar*

    not *star*

been listening to them for many years now

and i'm certian that's the word

  • Godd, she's gorgeous..and her voice is amazing..Appearance-wise she reminds me of Thora Birch.

  • that's cool!! I've often thought she look slike Deanna Durbin a little bit.

  • sweeet...

  • my name is forest, forest gump sr !!

  • huh?

  • i luv dis song..nice!

  • Its like the whole family is a compilation of abercrombie models who actually have talent. What do their parents look like? Are they Adam and Eve? Their awesome and all...but thats really no fair. They have 4 people that can sing with different tone textures and melodic qualities. They can do so much more musically but what they do put out is pretty freakin' good so i guess I shouldn't ask for more on the production side.Isn't here voice so Starry Nights,I love it!

  • Does anyone know the exact type of Rhodes model that is?

  • I believe its a Fender Rhodes Celeste series, circa 1964ish. Except theres no amp under it. Piano....#72? Not sure of the number. Or it could be a Fender Stage 73 Mark 1. But in the Celeste series release color. Thats it!! that makes sense. With the single pedal like that, its a Mark 1 Stage 73. My dad has a Rhodes suitcase piano, Mark 3 EK-10 in creme :O)

  • Is she saying 'star' or 'scar'? It sounds like 'star' up until the last one, and the lyrics websites are pretty evenly divided.

  • i think it's scar, but it does sound like she's saying star, as well, the lyrics are scar though, so i'd say scar...

  • haha i was wondering the same thing when i first heard it but its ''scar'' xP

  • she should have just sung it with the rhodes, it would have sounded better.

  • Ahh this family is sooo talented. :)

I love how dreamy they sound... it takes me to a lazy day in the summer, or something.

I just adore how their voices blend so incredibly well because they're so similar.

And sick!!! She's playing a Rhodes keyboard..

like paul meany from Mute Math. :)

  • ah so talented and beautiful..........

  • awe man.

    i love Eisley!

hurry hurry make a brand new CD and come back to Seattle on tour!

  • You know they came out with a new CD in August, right?

  • great

  • Golly Sandra is my favorite off Room Noises. On Combinations I really love Taking Control and Come Clean.

  • this ia a the best song in the world n prety vocalis

  • Ooh, this is a very dreamy version of Golly Sandra. I like it!!

  • This is so beautiful. I can't wait till its done. :B
