The difference is...Declan was only abt 10yrs old at this recording...David A.was abt 18 and much more experienced as a singer. (I like David.) Declan is known as a "raw talent"...one who never had one lesson, training or anything like that. He struck out on his own busking, doing talent shows and then he was recognized for the superb talent he was and signed to a million$ contract at 8yrs, because he kept winning all these quests. LOL! Personally I don't like it when kids sing this song. It's such an important and deep song, and I don't think a young child can fully comprehend it and what it means (clearly many adults don't either). So it may sound pretty or "adorable" as you put, but it just doesn't have the same meaning and impact when they sing it. But that's just my opinion.
