@Ulalafanboy, no I believe she had appeared on The Tonight Show before this with Johnny Carson but that's a sketchy memory so I could be wrong. She'd been appearing in many formats from 1980-ish onward. I was at one of her first appearances at a USC all night movie-a-thon during her first season on Movie Macabre. Her costume was so cheap (probably thanks to KHJ-9) it looked like it came from the Halloween shop at Sears. By this time she's stylin' and ridin' high. :)

@Ulalafanboy You can usually tell by how high her hairdo was and whether she had her dagger yet. She got her dagger on her belt much later. Early pictures show her without her dagger

By 1988, Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) signed with NBC to develop several projects, as well as make guest appearances on a Bob Hope special and a "MAGICAL WORLD OF DISNEY" hour {somewhat akin to adding Tabasco sauce on corn flakes). All that ever really came out of that deal was her theatrical feature film, co-produced by NBC. Today, she's back in syndication, with a new series of "Movie Macabre".

@fromthesidelines Actually she did appear in a Bob Hope Special and a Disney special where she shot segments in the Haunted Mansion. In the Disney special they had all her hair pulled around over her shoulders hiding her cleavage. It was very odd.
