To sort out any confusion what so ever I'll tell about this game (thx for the support guys!):

This game was originally produced by Capcom. But they dropped the project somewhere in 2002. Then Rockstar picked it up and changed the game a bit; for example; the original game was an American Western while Rockstar made it to a Spaghetti western. And also they changed the look and the music. But; the barebones of the game were designed by Capcom and not by Rockstar.

This game is definitely Japanese. It's a completely different climate from Redemption.

This was a fantastic game, no doubt. But after 7 years of playing more Western-developed games and playing less Japanese games, you can see a sharp contrast between the two styles of presentation.

I have Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Revolver, Call of Juarez Bound in Blood, and GUN. All are great in my opinion. Westerns are a much overlooked videogame genre.

@Thewitchking45 Do you play this game on a next-gen console? Cos I played it on my PS3 and on my XBOX 360 and found a number of problems. :(

The PS3 version gets to the copyright screen where it says like "Copyright Rockstar etc. etc." and then it doesn't go any further, it just freezes on that screen :(

The XBOX version does play but there is big, huge black lines all over the scenery and buildings etc. Also when I get up to the mountain bit with Bad Bessie I think her name is, it stalls :(

Too bad. Well I play it on an original Xbox and I would recommend you do the same. Backwards compatibility isn't that great (on neither the Xbox 360 nor the PS3) so you're better off buying a second hand PS2 or Xbox. Then you're sure you can play the game without any problems.

@Thewitchking45 Yeah mate it's grim tings, I also found out that Sony & Microsoft are no longer releasing patches/updates for these old games so the list of backwards compatible games is now solid. It's such a shame. Oh well time to get me an original XBOX and a PS2.

I guess it aint all bad though, they are both really bad ass consoles. My Primary & High School education pretty much consisted of Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, GTA, Tony Hawk's and several awesome beat-em-ups.

Should be nostalgic.

@Jarzka1990 Indeed, Gun.smoke on nes is better than it's spiritual successor (revolver). think of it like this: Gun.smoke is "A Fistfull of Dollars", Revolver is "For a Few Dollars More", Redemption is "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". As much as I harp on Redemption, it is a superior game (I just don't have as much fin with it as I do Revolver.)

Get Red Dead Redemption- it is way better and free roam. I only lasted about 30 minutes with this and then quit because of the confines.

My brother have recently praised this new Xbox 360 game Red Dead Redemption and I decided to get something similar to my OLD Xbox console. Since I have no money (yet) to buy the new X360 console I play with my old Xbox. So I found THIS game, Red Dead Revolver, which is made by same group than Red Dead Redemption game..Rockstar. I think this game can be thought like a first version of Red Dead Redemption. This is not sequel to it or anything. Just little similar. Anyways. AWESOME game! :D
