@Akan3zora I think it was time. I love R.E.M. but they had a 29 year run. I think by walking away, they leave a great legacy and body of work. Far too many bands keep going to where the legacy gets ruined. When you are almost in your seventies, it's time to stop, but many continue. R.E.M, has a legacy and as Michael's grandmother says r.e.m, to her, means remember every moment.
