No you could not have seen it. The video states that it is a representation of different wave lengths. An example would be, the sun emits radiation and ultra-violet light and niether are visably detectable with the human eye or regular photography. I am not a scientist, but I can say with some certainty that this was not a usual solar event, but it was also not a dangerous one. Solar events can affect our planet and it's atmosphere in so many detectable ways. It can also affect our satellites.
