i learned to ride a pocket bike before a push bike i was 12 before i had every ridden a mountain bike yet iv been riding 50cc and 125s since i was 3 lol wish i had the bonding experience with my mum tht this kids got wth his :\
My mom used to hold onto the seat to get me going and would let go without telling me once i started moving. I would do completely fine until I would look back and realize she wasn't holding on anymore. Then i would wreck haha
thats a mom and son there. i think its awesome she is out there teaching him to ride a bike and runs along with him. when he goes down, she does too. but they both get back up and try again. cant hate that. a lot of kids these days dont have a parent(s) to turn to for help and so they go the wrong way in life. This mother here is a good person.

@oisinrm He's five, not done much on a bike with stabilizers. Just held him on the bike by the saddle and handle bar and spun him round to feel leaning on corners and told him to go fast and off he went!

Main features to look for: metal bearings, brakes that work just enough but can be set so that at full squeeze the front wheel can't lock, and as light as possible for the parent when the child won't ride any more!
