On my laptop (2GHz Pentium M, 2GB RAM, nVidia 6600), Chrome is the fastest in terms of both UI responsiveness and page rendering speed. But I tend to choose Firefox because it is more secure with NoScript addon.
@darthirakli See #2. And Chrome is more secure, sorry. It is sandboxed from your system, unlike FF. So if you went to a bad browser exploit site, the browser JUST crashes. In browser wars 2, #CHROME #WINS #AND #GETS #OVER #5000!!!
@centerman7 Yeah, but if I went to bad site with Firefox + NoScript add-on, then (unless there is an exploit in e.g. text rendering which is rare) nothing happens because Java Script and all plugins are blocked by default.
You don't, for some reason (bug w/ the pre-alpha) upgrade, Just download the installer for the stable version of 10.5 and install it in the same directory... it will upgrade then
but opera's too laggy. Compared to Firefox which runs smoothly on my machine. Don't really felt the difference on speed between both so I think Firefox still rules the browser wars with no question.
@9308323 On my computer, Firefox is much much slower. Opera is fastest on my computer, about 3 times as fast as Firefox. Different computers, different results. On mine Opera 10.50 benchmarked higher than Firefox 3.6 with twice the points.
This has been flagged as spam show
each of the browsers has its main purpose:
- internet explorer- so people can install browsers
- safari- reading list for pc... default for mac
- firefox- fast and simple
- chrome- fast and very easy to use
- opera- useful for videos and downloading things that are not browsers
please post this on every browser war video you see

I downloaded it straight from the Opera website though. It said Download Opera 10.50, without the beta at the end. That's what I did.

@gaaraanime5 Then it's the stable and should be EVEN FASTER than the alpha
