plug in the usb once u have done that hold the power and the home button for ten seconds and then continue to hold the home button whilst releasing the power button if u ar linked to the computer itunes will say that ur iphone/ipod touch is in DFU mode and restore from there. any more probz email my youtube

would this work even if your iphone 3g has not been activated with any carrier? mine is locked with virgin mobile, when connected to itunes it says it does not have a supported sim in it. Would jail breaking it and following what is shown in the video leave my iphone 3g working untill i get my rebel sim? any help appreciated thanks!

Yeah, it does. They won't do shit if you break your iPhone or anything. You have to buy another one if you jailbroke it. :P. And most of the jailbreaks aren't very accurate, so if you can't call shit, they wont do crap.
