this game play looks awesome!! i always loved the shenmue games but it lacked the fast paced game play i so loved, it took to long to get to the fighting........this game looks as if it completes my desires.........and for the people who say noone wants this game.....your full of it....not everyone thinks like you, so shut up

Some japanese games i ordered that was only for japan were kinda fantasyish then real they barely had these shooters and real stuff well they did but those they ship here

ya gotta look at the fact that a shenmue mmo isn't as bad as one would think. It opens the world and opens stories other than that of Ryo. As for the combat, in order to have new things in terms of battle and spells, those are common place in an mmo. oh and 1 more thing don't think the Yu Suzuki will read the comments so bitching and moaning won't change it, cause we're american they are focusing on what the asian market likes not the youtubers on here^_^ FYI

The gameplay looked like shit. The trailer was looking pretty badass until that blonde bastard showed up and pretty much killed it. Why do they continue to waste time and money on this garbage? Why ruin the franchise name with this garbage? Its been done, its boring, its been played a million times and there about 2000 MMOs out now, that are exactly the same as the next, just a new franchise becomes one, but they are always the same game, either hack/slash or point and click. you can see it as a sepereate entity and the success determines the life of shenmue 3. the scenes and characters are there, if sega is able to keep the old fans and attract some new buyers who may be interested in playing the sequel, that makes a strong sales base.

shenmue 2 was a terrible game, boring, slow, cheesy, you name it it's that bad. but i played thru it in like a week. that's what so special about this game, if you love it, you'll overlook anything.

All I can think while watching this is - it's not Shenmue. It bears absolutely no resemblance to the games I know and love.

I keep comparing all this magic to those long, even mundane days I spent driving around Yokosuka harbour in a forklift truck. That was more interesting and engaging than this has been.

Just so you all know, Shenmue 2 leaves off to the idea of magic being introduced in the rest of the games. Although I do not really like the magic a whole lot, but it's gonna be in Shenmue 3 (most likely) anyway

I doubt the actual game will have magic.. Im sure they just have noticed some new features on the xbox 360 and wanted to include them on the game.. TGS 2004 the graphics wherent as nice but the fighting was somewhat like Virtua Fighter but in an MMORPG

Good stuff! I feel as though this game will kill any chance of a proper addition to the Shenmue series ever being released though, since this game looks as if it will summarise the remaining 12 chapters worth of storyline into this one game. I'm glad that the storyline is finally being told but ideally, I would have preferred it if the story had been steadily unveiled throughout Shenmue 3, 4 and possibly even 5.
