  • lolz URRG this camera is crazy awesome, im ahaving trouble believing there using the natural light there was used, unless they had like upp the ass fillmm camera status lenses but sill U_I_O_O_O_O WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @javieralza the iso on this camera can get to ,in h3, 102400 with some considerable quality loss.... but in standard iso ranges you can to 12800 without too much quality loss.... fantastic camera

  • the 1d is great in lowlight especially in video, even the 7d would have unuseable vidro pushing 3200. great job.

  • anyone notice that they actually changed the car at 1:04, see the driver seat.

  • This is amazing

  • The 7D can't be compared to the 1Ds simply because they don't have full frame sensors. Also I always notice that "wobbly" look when people make videos with the 7Ds.

Awesome video... i'd love to see the comparison between the 1Ds and the 5Ds.

  • @datheat99 That video wasn't shot on a 1ds, the 1ds has no video function. This video was shot on a 1d mark iv. You are right one cannot compare the 7d and the 1d mark iv in sensor size, BUT the id mark iv doesn't have a full frame sensor either. It has got a aps-h sensor with a crop-factor of 1.3 unlike the the sensor of the 7d which is an aps-c sensor with a crop-factor of 1.6.

    Btw. a 5ds doesn't exist either...

  • This is after color correction -,-

  • This would make an epic movie. :P

  • Man, that guys not even breaking a sweat... o.o

  • no better than a 550D

  • no better than a 5D

  • @urynome

I know its the 1D and I didn't say its the best 7D footage. I said it looked alot better. I only mentioned that cause you only hear about the MK 2 and 7D being used for DSLR film making.

  • @krstone0

um the reason why he used 1D is probs the low noise performance

  • Very nice video quality esp without any other light sources. Looks alot better than some of the 7D footage I've seen. to bad it wasn't 1080.

  • @krstone0 it says 1D in the description not 7D like $6000 difference that may be why it is the best "7D" footage you have seen.

  • Parkour <3 =) oh and that old man chasing him looks a bit like "Nick Nolte"

  • just WOW !!!!

what lenses you used here ?

  • great job!

  • Wow this is one of the most epic edits i ever saw! Damn !!

    Totally love it ! & Subbed!! <3

  • This was freaking awesome!

Makes me wanna buy a dslr now.

  • Where did the skateboard go

  • Interesting

  • that was ridiculous

  • hell yah man. awesome video!!!!

  • Incredible..

  • Nice!

  • This clip is a work of art. The train track scene at night with the light reflections is a money shot in itself. The sense timing and flow into the various scenes is very cool indeed. The group that collaborated on this short film have shown how to milk every last drop out of basic equipment. LOVE IT

  • HE ALMOST KISSED A DUDE!!! ...lol.

  • Great video.

    Like the editing and cut

  • this video is sick

  • Nice shots!

The story and the action are not as good, but I love how it was framed and photographed!

  • wow! amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AMAZING.

  • You are to be applauded!!!! What a fantastic clip/effort. Seen many clips (EOD 1D Mk4) but yours is just the 'creme de la creme'. Great passion for wanting to create a full feature feel. TOP MARKS!!!

  • Anyone knows what kind of post production/coloring went into this?

I would love to see the RAW footage for comparison.

  • @yossmanx I think this was RAW footage. It looks pretty natural. I know one of Laforet's first shorts (Reverie) shot with a Canon 5D Mk II and all the footage is straight out of the camera.

  • @yossmanx they used magic bullet to color correct if that helps....

  • I've bought the canon Mark IV, and the video....It dosen't work as fine as I expected: all the shadows has a lot of noise, and the video goes out of de FULL HD when you increases the ISO up to 500. It isn't a good camera to work with shadows and low light, is a camera to make videos with nautural sun light. If you want it, ....just wait for de Scarlett (redone).....

  • or maybe you just didn't use it right. How is it I can shoot in low light, minor noise with my 7D, but it's not possible with the

    1D?

  • Just posted a video shot with the 1D to show its low light capabilities in case anyone is interested...just click on my name to check it out.

  • What I am saying is cost - either buy or rent it's a factor. And I love this and the camera, but there is more than meets the eye - it's not just stock kit

  • Hold on now. Some people need to realize the use of all these lenses used for this. So before you think it was just the stock lens Canon lenses used in the making of Nocturne: EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II EF 24-70mm f/2.8L EF 24mm f/1.4L II EF 50mm f/1.2L EF 85mm f/1.2L II EF 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro EF 200mm f/2.0L IS EF 300mm f/2.8L IS EF 500mm f/4.0L IS
  • @CaliforniaOcean1

hey not being a stupid noob, just curious what scene was shot on the 500mm lens? thx :)

  • Canon I'm coming over soon!!!

  • this is the best professional-looking video on YouTube. Excellent work.

  • Nice... was waiting for the RED camera to do something like this... oh well... guess I am going to buy one.

  • yea... but how does it do in optimal light conditions???

  • I don't understand the point of your question. Low light is a noise invitation, if a camera performs well in low light it certainly perform even better with more light. Any Pro photog would choose higher ISO over more megapixels any day.

  • I was displaying a little sarcasm there... yea, this camera is amazing and wish I could dish out 5k for it.

...and yea, high ISO that works is the key.

  • wow..

  • im sold! completely sold i would have to pic this over the d3s...i have no choice...

  • That's simply outstanding. And it looks with almost no noise.

    Incredible.

  • perfect...

  • yup,,I totally agree Sold,,,mine is on order great job.

  • That was amazing! THis was shot in Natural LIght and it produced that sort of picture?! Amazing! If only I had the money to buy this piece of kit! Well Done Canon!

And well done to the guys/girls who put this short film together! Great work!

  • Absolutely incredible. I don't think anything at the D1's price point can deliver anywhere near this resolution in low light situations. Sold.
