  • thanks for posting this guys. I've only ever seen this done in a pro wrestling match. though it was done by the Master of the double wristlock Kazushi Sakuraba.

  • Great advice guys, I'm going to use this next time i go to the gym.

  • Beautiful!!! I'm gonna own that technique.

  • Is it normal that the kimura is the hardest technique for me to get a tapout from others?

  • great stuff

Like in life many times the opponent does not follow the game plan, so ALL OPTIONS are in play

I especially like when you showed one more move such as ,,, man on the bottom gets his arm free BUT no problem, arm around the neck

    thanks

  • sweet

  • Love ur vids bro. especially the omaplata thing u did very nice

  • Phil Davis says he invented the 1arm Kimura he used to win? Wonder why Lloyd Irving is saying Phil learned it from him?

  • @cuzz63 Haha! Oh hell no. He gets credit for being the first guy in the UFC to use it. But that move has been around forever just like a lot of other submissions.

A random rolling partner casually showed it to me about 4 years ago in a combination he would use. There's a lot of easy effective submissions and variations that the mainstream UFC/BJJ community doesn't really know about yet.

  • Why do this instead of a normal kimura?

  • @Patricktsf All about options, man.

  • @Patricktsf for all the reasons the guy says in the video.

  • @Patricktsf some people only have one arm

  • @Patricktsf some people only have one arm, plus mr wonderful was going for $80,000 bonus

  • @Patricktsf different positions can give you this submission. its a good move to learn if the guy wont tap with kimura. then try one arm kimura it is mor stronger because you turn corner

  • I was going to come on here to say Phil Davis watched this video, but I think I'm a little late lol

  • As good as a move as this one arm kimura is, it's not a Mr. Wonderful. This one arm kimura is still a rotator cuff submission. The Mr. Wonderful that Phil Davis used was more of a deltoid hyper extension (aka a chicken wing) and it wasn't one armed. He grabbed is left writst with his right hand underneath Tims back. He also didn't rotate into a north south position, he stayed in side control. The mechanics are quite different.

  • @pressureGM Did he do it EXACTLY like the way shown in the video? No... You are correct. However it was pretty dang close...

  • @TechniquePrevails i'm not criticizing the move you guys posted. i love your channel and am an avid fan. i just wanted to point out the differences so that both moves could be utilized for their specific instances. sometimes moves don't go the way they're supposed to based on the physique of the opponent so knowing the nuances of both will give you twice the number of options. as you guys say technique matters. both these moves can be chained together if needed.

  • @pressureGM No harm done, man. Keep on rolling!

  • @pressureGM Did he exhale as he finished the move? Were the stars in correct alignment as he grabbed his arm? Did a bunch of people recognize the move, so that they posed on here? Close enough...

  • @pressureGM But in one video i saw phil davis turn his position north south ...

  • LOL- I am glad that everyone noticed that I posted this BEFORE the Phil Davis fight!

Thanks for watching- and please check out the site!

  • Did phil davis watch this just before his fight?

  • It's pretty interesting how this video came out today...and Phil Davis busted something similar to this submission on Tim Boetsch at UFC 123 tonight!

  • great vid, always like variations of standard moves, makes it harder for your opponent to counter it :)

  • man! i just saw phil "mr wonderfuf" davis did it at ufc 123 so it works!!!!

  • it just really disappoints me that this move will now be officially called mr. wonderful

  • @haylex93 I completely agree! And "he invented it" according to him...

  • This is great! I love this channel

  • Sorry guys, this is called the "Mr. Wonderful"

  • phil davis???????

  • lol at this video and the comment below predicting future events that take place at UFC 123

  • wow i cant believe this technique was posted just a few hours before the phil davis fight...

  • i would like to see a shrimp against this. but awesome idea.

  • Phil Davis just said he invented this move when he finished Boetsch with it, in UFC 123, when I saw him do it, I thought, "Didn't I just see this move somewhere today"...lol

  • Just watched this in UFC 123.

  • yeahh!!!great!!!

  • one word "wonderful" technique

  • @basstosstown Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis

  • @basstosstown got that right.."the davis" xD

  • @basstosstown Did you just get lucky by stating that it was a "wonderful" technique ? Or are you some kind of psychic

  • Wow I never seen it done this way. Great job.

  • Its times like these where youtube's lack of a "love" button is painfully obvious.

  • Maybe shrimp escape to the right side with a roll like the armbar escape to get out of the kimura is possible. What you think?

  • Thank you for creating this video, I am going to start drilling this technique as soon as possible.

  • Please be sure to check out the site, next week's free Technique is already posted there!

  • @TechniquePrevails would it be possable to show the positions from diffrent angles
