You do realise the westminster chimes are meant to play before the hour strikes don't you? That is then followed by the striking of the hour at 00:25 in this video.

It chimes on the minute before the hour. So 11:59 chime then 12:00 bong. I should know i have it on my PC.

It's 150 years old. You can't just replace the great clock of westminster. It's like putting the leaning tower of pissa straight. I think it's superbly accurate for it's age.

I remember those first few minutes of 2007, with my face hardly daring to move away from the TV! Us Brits sure know how to throw one heck of a party!

I was working nights in an office at Heathrow watching this on telly, and vowed I would be there in person December 31st 2007!
