Saw them (the original trapeze) at the semana allegre festival in san antonio in1996 all three signed my white fender fretless bass! And i stiil have it! Plus an autographed trapeze t-shirt! Glen hughes, Mel Galley and Dave Holland. Oh Yeah!
I saw them in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl in 1974 or 75 I cannot remember. The first band was Foghat, then Trapeze, then the Eagles and then the ROLLING STONES. What a show.
I was there in Memphis at the Shell and help them set up that morning .......cool guys, Glen looked at me and said.......WHATS UP DUDE! LETS GET IT ON!!........I was just 15 then I will ever forget that day........when I pass from this life I will take that day with me......You are the music we are just the band .......am on the cover ........getting high.....
You lucky mofa! No disrespect intended, just jealous bloke. It's such a shame all the good intentions of the late 60's/early 70's seem to have been discredited. Call me a jaded ex-hippy but is the world better since gordon Gecko took over? I don't think so. Thank god I have my music to escape to.
mel galley was an awsesome sight on stage in trapeze, with his long leather coat, he commanded the attention of whole crowd including the shy one`s at the back. i am gutted he is not with us anymore.i will never forget ilkeston coop and mansfield odeon,
Mel passed away July 1 after a lenghty battle with throat cancer. He was not only a fantastic guitarist but also an excellent vocalist as well. After Glenn had left Trapeze for Deep Purple Mel took over lead vocals on the Hot Wire and Trapeze albums. Those along with You Are The Music album all deserved a lot more recognition. Thanks for the great music. Rest in peace Mel.

Trapeze was one of the best rock bands ever. No one put on a show with the energy Trapeze did. Great musicians. Solid music.
