Smokin' EC w Cream old school smokin' blues payin' tribute to the great Albert King. Hot Stuff this Blues Style! If you dig this--- check us out as well on youtube - ----
THIS IS not THE ORIGINAL version of this song. Albert King recorded the Original. And tell the guy who insists you check on your kids to
mind his own business, there is too much interference in other peoples business nowdays. NOBODY tells me what to do with my children. Unless they want a slap of their own.....................
People are complaining about the quality? This is obviously rehearsal and the recording is probably just a mono tape recorder. This is a piece of "behind the scenes" history that we are lucky to hear.
So that's what weak unemployed parents do when their kids are driving them nuts. Theygo on youtube, record a download, and try to drown them out by being louder than they are. Wouldn't be a lot easier and smarter to just discipline your children?.
So the Urban Legend Lives! I've been hearing about this posting for over a year now, i didn't think it really existed...Cheers to claptonian69 for making a great Cream song sound like a decrepit mess!
ok, the song was written by booker t. jones and william bell. originally recorded by albert king for his 1967 album "born under a bad sign".....i think i'm going to add the sound of screaming kids to my next music video posting, i feel it really enhances the listening experience.
Hey, the whailing kid goes woth the song. Just think, why else would the kid act this way through a pefectly good song. (((Born under a bad sign))) lol
it's either an early take or possibly a BBC session. it's not the classic wheels of fire version. i'd love to hear the WOF mix they did with a brass section. it was never released. has anybody got a boot?
Yeah, this is IT!...I remember a kid-high-school-band, named Crossroads- doing this in Staten Island New York in the early 70's...and they were Good...
Besides the kids voices, I think this is an ulternate take of the version on Wheels of Fire album. Pay attention to Eric's guitar solos. They are different!
i read in a 1989 issue of Guitar Player magazine, recounting an actual meeting between Eric Clapton, Peter Baker, Jack Bruce, Albert King, William Bell, and Booker T.Jones, planing a recording session, video, and mini in person tour, and remake of Born under a bad sign. Albert King wanted a 10k advance, then plans went south. anyone have any info of what happened???
You say Wheels of Fire but illustrate with Disraeli Gears. A roadie borrowed Baker's bicycle -- a top of the line racing bike -- and came back after riding to say that he really dug those Disraeli gears on the bike, by which he meant, of course, derailer gears! Disraeli is a person, a former two-time Prime Minister, and not a piece of biking technology.

Why is everyone complaining about the kids? It's obviously a bootleg recording of a live perfomance at Romper Room.

Hey Claptonian 69 are you trying win an award for most pathetic upload?
Here are the infractions:
1. Wrong album cover. This song IS NOT on Disraeli Gears.
2. The album cover is shaky, how did you accomplish this?
3. Sound quality is equavialent to an original vinyl pressing that has been left in a damp garage for 42 years.
4. Unintelligible noises coming from geeked up kids on a sugar high in the backround.

Pat Travers does a much more powerful version.
mscir 2 years ago
So does Hendrix
StSimonOfTrent 2 years ago
@mscir No disrespect to Cream, or Albert King, etc... but I agree: Travers is no slouch!
He rocked this song AND did a killer version of Statesboro Blues (Allmans); that's just a few of his excellent cover tracks.
