  • apple changed my Logic board and display and ram and still the problem hasnt gone away and i changed my OS and did a clean install to Snow leopard ! Still no improvement.

  • I never heard back from Apple. I spoke to them in September, they described this as a "known issue" & told me to wait for a solution. I suspect it was resolved as a software problem - I have updated my OS since then (now 10.5.5), & the problems have nearly all gone away. The only thing that still happens is occasional self-dimming that doesn't seem directly related to ambient light levels, but that's pretty infrequent & minor. If you are having problems, try updating OS & see if that helps.

  • I actually just reformatted my mac, and the problems seem to have gone away. I'm assuming it was a software issue....regardless, it is still annoying me...and I will always wonder if it was a hardware issue.

  • nm, the issue is back....making an appointment with the genius bar .... ugh

  • starting to have the same problems with m computer...calling apple tomorrow...they better have a solution cause its pissing me off...especially the vertical lines

  • did anyone get back to you on this? This issue just started happening with my MBP. I found your video thru google.

  • See my update comment.

  • I called apple today in regards to the vertical lines appearing on my screen after prolonged use and the guys told me that next time they appear, to press: control, shift and the eject button all at once until the screen goes to sleep. He said that this should work, it resets the screen.
