i hate when people say wealthy people are lucky. im not rich, but these guys earn every penny they make, one way or another. only time wealthy people are lucky is if they are some spoiled prince.
@yesssigotmail that is because wealthy people are lucky. it takes much more than hard work to be wealthy (enough to own a mcclaren f1). there are many factors that coincide with being wealthy: good health, good opportunities, certain mental capacity, charisma, etc... the list goes on. i'm wealthy, i could cough up a couple million to afford a mcclaren f1 if i really wanted to (maybe i will in a few years, if i'm lucky?). i live up in a pent house in santa monica, ca. i drive a mercedes
@yesssigotmail i'm a medical doctor, an innovative mind, and am heavily involved with real estate and believe it's safe to say i've earned every penny that is in my name. i know maids that are 100 x more hard-working than half of the "wealthy" people that i know, but they just aren't that lucky. alot of the wealthy in this country "u.s.a." have gotten the extreme end of their wealth by taking advantage of people and having the right connections, but not all. this conversation goes on, so don't
@blutabu2h sounds like somebody is a bit too caught up with their accomplishments.i would have agreed with you had you not been the smart aleck that you are
in 15 years when the veyron is as old as the original F1,,, tell me what car you would rather have!!!! i today would take a F1 over a UGLY ASS veyron anyday,, SHIT!! you drive this car from the center,, you can have a hot ass broad on either side of you.... what can beat that?
Just the fact that this car is legendary and will always be remembered as one of the best cars ever made is priceless alone. The speed, style, engineering excellence, and all around performance all contribute as well. No Veyron can match the F1
Great CAR! Strange "customer". Sounds pretty jewish. Cheap sport clothing. Looks like somebody sent a driver with POA to pick up the stuff. Camera is as cheap as camera work. Camera man is a son of .....driver. Strange for that kind of money. No TAG-Mac's watch with serial number. No factory all area modem, but charger instead. Tools tolley opens hard. All scenario doesn't look as it should, and as it was a decade ago.
"Wow! This is a labor of love! This is pure devotion" For crying out loud man, IT'S A MCLAREN F1!!! Like you weren't aware of that until you saw the Gordon Murray-signed manual it came with!
This is chassis #065 being delivered after the 2008 RM Auction in London. I believe the car was sold to an American.
The car that was damaged in a fire in Northern California was a different F1 - chassis #067. It's not clear yet whether it was actually written off, or will be repaired.
@Peloton25 Thanks for the reply. I hope they get to repair that car... If they insured for over 2 million I would imagine we see that car on the road again.. Hopefully with the HD kit.
BTW..This is DMC308 from Fchat & TheCavallinoClub :)
@FerrariDMC - 'Flemke' on PistonHeads who you must also be familiar with just informed everyone that #067 will be repaired and that the damage the car sustained was less than one would have suspected.
I'm thrilled to hear it because that was the first F1 road car I ever had the privilege to see in real life. I am also happy for the car's owner who was obviously sick over the thought of losing his F1. :)
They sold new in the mid-90's for about $980,000. In the past several years their values have increased to beyond double that amount. The buyer of this particular car at an auction in London last year paid just over $4 Million for it, as it is practically a brand new F1 with very little mileage that hadn't ever been registered.
This was McLaren's showroom car on Park Lane in London for nearly a decade, then spent a couple of years in Singapore with it's original owner prior to the auction.

I can honestly say I would pay £10 million for one of these if I had the money and that's what it took to get it!
Built more like a Rolex than a car and perfect in every way...

@DRIVEFASTER2010 Rolex's are tool watchs not high end exclusives. This car is more like a Patek Philippe, Lange, Vacheron or a Breguet.
