@grisgriz85 Well I can speak from experience because my sister has cancer, and is being treated on the NHS. As soon as she was diagnosed, they started treatment the very next day. She has her own room in a brand new section of the hospital, and I can honestly say that all the treatment she has been getting has from my prospective been first class. The only problem I can see with the NHS is that it makes taxes higher to pay for it, but if we didn't have the NHS my family would probably be broke.

Your thinking is fallacious. What you fail to see is that your family IS broke. Outrageous import tax, the NHS, and all manner of UK social programs require your government to tax you into poverty to pay for them. Programs like the NHS may seem like a godsend when you need something from them, but it is your own labor that was already paying for them even when you didn't. The same is now happening here.

@shoelessjohn You appear to be greatly misinformed. My family is not broke, we live very comfortably in a a 4 bed house in a leafy suburb, and we have zero debts, not even a mortage. So I'm afraid you are wrong. And anyway, I fail to see what it wrong with having a proportion of your wages taken from you to help people less fortunate than yourself. Although I do agree that the top income tax bracket which I think will soon be 50% of is too high.

@hi262779 Obviously I know nothing of your particular circumstances. It was a general statement, the point being that if instead of paying 40% or more of your income to support wildly inefficient state infrastructure, then paying for cancer treatment would not have been an issue.

On top of your personal taxation, everything you buy with VAT needlessly takes more money out of your pocket. Have you ever actually calculated out how much money you would have without any taxation?

@shoelessjohn I'd like to point out that the majority of people pay about 30% income tax. I personally am happy to pay relatively high tax in exchange for services for me and my neighbours. You obviously feel differently.

I agree. People are turning away from the concepts of liberty and choosing to embrace the "majority rule" democracy.

Much of Europe is being engulfed in socialist movements already. . . That is why I was making the comment. The fact that we don't see it happening in our country is astounding.

As usual, this is another phenomenal speech from a true and ardent defender of human freedom. This country needs more people like him- people who truly understand the point of the sacred Constitution, people who aren't afraid to stand up and articulate their love for freedom and individual liberties.

I couldn't agree more. Choice is virtually nil, overspends are getting ridiculous (when I was working for startups, a £10k overspend would have merited a rethink, nowadays a £50M overspend is regarded as a fairly good outcome).

I'm working hard to make the NHS make sense, but in so many ways it's a battle to make the system fail with the minimum of political disaster.

@andrewsurtees a greek hospital bought medicines that costs 500 euros for 5 milion euros(im not lying or overeacting this is what the manager of the hospital said)...this went on tv,the new manager of the hospital said look we are doing a great job for corraption and then the minister of health said calm down man,we will discouse this things privately...(cause the doctors were from the party)and he literally shut him up!i hate my country and this man is right,once its on it will never close...
