Just want to share with everyone what I read in MANY articles in the past. Yanni didn't sell out. He struggled for years, resisting to have vocalists write lyrics to his music because he felt the music would get lost. The lyrics have given the music a new form of life and those lyrics have become a sort of metaphor for wings. Now the music has evolved and is taking flight. I went to the concert at Radio City in NY - it was fabulous. Hope many of you have the opportunity to see his concert.

trust me,i have listened to almost every yanni cd(i think all of them minus ethnicity and his first one,even his not so popular dvd productions such as live at the royal albert hall)and i have never complained about yanni until now

Watch Chloe sing Change on the PBS Special. Near the end of the song, she is in tears and you hear every bit of it. Her voice even breaks up. No lip syncing there. This video in the last minute or so, it's easy to tell it is totally live.
love the music, but to see this lip syncing is enough 4 me wouldn't go pay to see "live" perfrmnce. No way. U do NOT need be some "expert" - as the person says - as long as you have two good ears and eyes you can see! You need the orignl dvd or Public TV, but do it fairly well (guys on show worse than females at lip sycing) I asked my fiance when she came into the room later in 3rd prfrmnce (hot blonde) asked her what she thought & 1st thng she said was "they'r lip sincing"!!!.

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing this concert, sadly she's lip syncing in this video until 2:30 :( She mistakedly drops the mic away from her mouth at 1:50 and again at 1:55 while the voice is still coming out, and no that's not reverb.

It's so obvious that she actually starts singing at 2:30 because her voice is louder and has a lot of dynamic pitch changes that aren't present in the audio recording. Fine, enjoy your ignorance, but you must agree that Yanni made a bad decision teaming up with Rick. Yanni built his career on making is own music in is own way, not by someone else's input. He may seem excited about exploring this new idea, but it's not like he's never used voice before. Some works include Aria, Love is All, Niki Nana, For all Seasons, and Rainmaker where he himself sings a few bars.
Finally, you are assuming that I was trying to make Yanni look like a bad guy. I never once said that her lip sync was a bad thing. It is required protocol for vocalists to lip sync on stage so as not to ruin their vocal chords before the end of the tour and for their next studio visit.
And if you want further review, observe the 3-part harmony at 1:01 and again at 1:51. Now listen at 2:30 while she is singing the melody her 3-part harmony still somehow manages to play in the background
Listen, singing along with backing track ( READ-BACKGROUND VOCALS, NOT LEAD VOCAL) in this circumstance is necessary as Yanni does not have BACKGROUND SINGERS ON TOUR WITH HIM. So, in order to sound like the album you need to have backing tracks.
Make no mistake, my dear Professional Video Editor/Web Game Line Drawer, Chloe is not lip syncing the lead vocals.

Yes she is singing the lead vocals AFTER 2:30. Before that it's the audioo track as it is identical to the one on the CD both in clarity and format, clearly.

You can't tell anything from the video, the quality is so bad to begin with. You need to be able to see a singer's face during the song to determine if anyone is lip syncing anyway - so your 'super ears' are of no use to you with the blurriness of the video.
When you can show me something that lends to your ability to discern when someone is lip syncing, thats when your opinion counts. And drawing lines don't count.

I think Chloe looks and sounds amazing and the dance is a natural extension of this sensual song. I do not think that what she is doing is "erotic", sensual and passionate yes,but erotic is something different. She is a beautiful sexy 20 year old, and they are launching her as solo artist- not just a "Yanni Vocalist." I too love Yanni's music only performance- but this is something new and different, he is an artist and has to continue to grow and try new things. I say Bravo to him.

Whell,we knew for the beginning that the voices is promoting young,latin artists,it was not a secret.You may have right there when you say that Yanni haven't composed new songs we fans are waiting for,but that it is not an easy task to do,I believe the voices came out just great as it was planned,and there was work also with it,a lot.Finally who is captured by Yanni and his music,forgives everything,I am happy he is back as millions of his fans are!
As someone in the music industry, I imagine they 'leaked' the info about "Voices" to see what kind of reaction they would get. Then with this reaction they attempt to get a record deal....
Now that it is done, I'm betting more information will flow out.
But what, other than the EPK's, do you want to know about the artists? If you 'google' their names you can find out a lot about each artist... Until the Disney deal was announced, I don't know what else Management could have given us...
Maybe the better judgement would have been to hold on all news until this record deal was done, then announce the 'Voices'?
yeah cool Yd, fair points. I have my share of industry experience too, and global at that. My point is this. For any project to suceed you need to build up a True Fan base. After the initial Teaser Camapign where the Voices were introduced 12 months ago there was great excitement. The iron was hot! Then inexplicably everything went dead cold from Yanni Managements end for almost 8-10 months. Long term fans were isolated, insulted and trashed. Yes, I do read the YMB.
I agree it was too long for any more news to come out. That said, the only other thing they ( Yanni Management) could have done, IMHO, would have been wait longer to do the initial 'tease' so that the album release/tour news would follow sooner.
But if they released the 'tease' to garner record company attention, and it took this long to broker a deal, then they're damned if they do and damned if they don't...
Either way, publishing disparaging messages about the artists is wrong.

Again, I don't know how much else you waned to know about the artists other than the EPK's and the written Bio's on Yanni's website. Her Bio does say that Chloe was a dancer since the age of 3, so you can't say you didn't even know she could dance.
The Management argument seems, IMHO, to stem from the YanniMusicMuse dismissal. If true then fine, but bring it over there.
Maybe it's because the final record deal was only just announced last week? If you read the YMB you would have seen the reports that no one knew when the CD would be released, no one knew when the tour would begin. Now that it's been finalized ( the deal) information is starting to come out.

When you have a beautiflu voice and a pretty face, there is no need for crawling around on floors and pianos. Like I said, It's hard to enjoy the song when wondering why the heck she's doing that. 2.30 onward bites bag. I thought this was being mimed at the start because it sounds like the studio version, but at 2.30 she tries to sound like the typical rap-featured slag who does all these oooohs and ahhhhhs to show off her skill. Watch Chloe sing Change on the PBS Special. Near the end of the song, she is in tears and you hear every bit of it. Her voice even breaks up. No lip syncing there. This video in the last minute or so, it's easy to tell it is totally live.

love the music, but to see this lip syncing is enough 4 me wouldn't go pay to see "live" perfrmnce. No way. U do NOT need be some "expert" - as the person says - as long as you have two good ears and eyes you can see! You need the orignl dvd or Public TV, but do it fairly well (guys on show worse than females at lip sycing) I asked my fiance when she came into the room later in 3rd prfrmnce (hot blonde) asked her what she thought & 1st thng she said was "they'r lip sincing"!!!.

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing this concert, sadly she's lip syncing in this video until 2:30 :( She mistakedly drops the mic away from her mouth at 1:50 and again at 1:55 while the voice is still coming out, and no that's not reverb.

Ok now I'm pissed. Listen asshole I've been doing video/audio editing for years too. That's irrelevant. She's lip syncing and that's it, you're wrong, just accept it. It's so obvious that she actually starts singing at 2:30 because her voice is louder and has a lot of dynamic pitch changes that aren't present in the audio recording. Besides that, if she sang the entire song at every concert her voice would burn out. I'm not dissing on Yanni, I'm just pointing out a fact. Eat it.

Actually, she isn't lip syncing. I have seen her perform live, and worked with her in the studio, and believe me she can sing very, very well. She sings at every concert, I can assure you.... believe what you want Mr Editor, but you are wrong.

Fine, enjoy your ignorance, but you must agree that Yanni made a bad decision teaming up with Rick. Yanni built his career on making is own music in is own way, not by someone else's input. He may seem excited about exploring this new idea, but it's not like he's never used voice before. Some works include Aria, Love is All, Niki Nana, For all Seasons, and Rainmaker where he himself sings a few bars.

Finally, you are assuming that I was trying to make Yanni look like a bad guy. I never once said that her lip sync was a bad thing. It is required protocol for vocalists to lip sync on stage so as not to ruin their vocal chords before the end of the tour and for their next studio visit.
And if you want further review, observe the 3-part harmony at 1:01 and again at 1:51. Now listen at 2:30 while she is singing the melody her 3-part harmony still somehow manages to play in the background

Listen, singing along with backing track ( READ-BACKGROUND VOCALS, NOT LEAD VOCAL) in this circumstance is necessary as Yanni does not have BACKGROUND SINGERS ON TOUR WITH HIM. So, in order to sound like the album you need to have backing tracks.
Make no mistake, my dear Professional Video Editor/Web Game Line Drawer, Chloe is not lip syncing the lead vocals.
Like I said to an earlier poster on here - if you have issues w Yanni or Yanni's management take it up there, don't slag the artists.

Yes she is singing the lead vocals AFTER 2:30. Before that it's the audioo track as it is identical to the one on the CD both in clarity and format, clearly.
My credentials aren't important because you know I don't have any. But I have two perfectly functioning ears that have the ability to interpret bullshit when they hear it, and you my friend are full of it. I'm not slaging anyone, you're assuming I'm a hater, but it's you that I'm hating on, not Yanni.

You can't tell anything from the video, the quality is so bad to begin with. You need to be able to see a singer's face during the song to determine if anyone is lip syncing anyway - so your 'super ears' are of no use to you with the blurriness of the video.
When you can show me something that lends to your ability to discern when someone is lip syncing, thats when your opinion counts. And drawing lines don't count.

It's so obvious even from a low quality video like this one that if it was done in HQ I don't know how you could deny it. Also, because it's bootlegged it doesn't have anything done to it to hide the FACT that she's lip syncing. They doctor a DVD's audio_TS just for that reason ya know.

its a fact many artists do lyp sync to save their voices but that shouldnt happen on a concert of an artist such as yanni,he is not the jonas brothers or britney spears!only he knows what he is doing..

I think Chloe looks and sounds amazing and the dance is a natural extension of this sensual song. I do not think that what she is doing is "erotic", sensual and passionate yes,but erotic is something different. She is a beautiful sexy 20 year old, and they are launching her as solo artist- not just a "Yanni Vocalist." I too love Yanni's music only performance- but this is something new and different, he is an artist and has to continue to grow and try new things. I say Bravo to him.

Whell,we knew for the beginning that the voices is promoting young,latin artists,it was not a secret.You may have right there when you say that Yanni haven't composed new songs we fans are waiting for,but that it is not an easy task to do,I believe the voices came out just great as it was planned,and there was work also with it,a lot.Finally who is captured by Yanni and his music,forgives everything,I am happy he is back as millions of his fans are!

yeah cool Yd, fair points. I have my share of industry experience too, and global at that. My point is this. For any project to suceed you need to build up a True Fan base. After the initial Teaser Camapign where the Voices were introduced 12 months ago there was great excitement. The iron was hot! Then inexplicably everything went dead cold from Yanni Managements end for almost 8-10 months. Long term fans were isolated, insulted and trashed. Yes, I do read the YMB.

I agree it was too long for any more news to come out. That said, the only other thing they ( Yanni Management) could have done, IMHO, would have been wait longer to do the initial 'tease' so that the album release/tour news would follow sooner.
But if they released the 'tease' to garner record company attention, and it took this long to broker a deal, then they're damned if they do and damned if they don't...
Either way, publishing disparaging messages about the artists is wrong.

The issue has never been about trashing the artists and I do not condone any of the personal attacks on them.I wish and hope for the best for Yanni and the Voices, My point is they (YanniMgmt)have shown repeated disregard to the True fans, have insulted their intelligence and have done precious little in promoting these artists. Again, I don't know how much else you waned to know about the artists other than the EPK's and the written Bio's on Yanni's website. Her Bio does say that Chloe was a dancer since the age of 3, so you can't say you didn't even know she could dance.
The Management argument seems, IMHO, to stem from the YanniMusicMuse dismissal. If true then fine, but bring it over there.

Maybe it's because the final record deal was only just announced last week? If you read the YMB you would have seen the reports that no one knew when the CD would be released, no one knew when the tour would begin. Now that it's been finalized ( the deal) information is starting to come out.

This show was incredibly eclectic, taking you on an exquisite emotional journey which satisfies your every desire. The artists are insanely talented live. Ric Wake & Yanni introduces the world to a breath of fresh air with their spectacular creative minds and hearts. Bravo to the Yanni/Wake team for giving us such a gift. I will never forget their opening show and look forward to the success it is destined to have. We are all very blessed to experience this production!!!!
