I don't get why so many people gave this movie bad reviews. It kept my ADD interest all 2 hours and I really appreciated the level of graphical work and the plot. Lots of thought went into this.

Without an internet connection, there is absolutely no way Clu would have any knowledge of FB or email. This is why the pager is far more plausible. The new Clu was designed to maintain and run the new Grid, similar to an MCP, and was capable of independent thought (also not possible in any way, which mute's your pager argument). They just had the same name and nothing more. The first Tron had a more technical sounding script, but was by no means more "realistic" than the second.

If I made a program called "Jeff" and had it deleted without back ups, I could just as easily create a second program with the same parameters and call it "Jeff" without any issue. Flynn wrote a second,NEW Clu program, completed his creation on the Grid (the scene with the mirror).

As I understand it, the closest thing to anything called "the Grid" in the original was "the Game Grid" - Sark's gladatorial arena. I LOVED Legacy because it sorta plays on my interest to have a connection with whomever created this universe & that s/he may not be "perfect" as most assume. Quorra is lucky for having personally interacted w/the "creator" of her world, the emotions in her voice as she explained meeting him the 1st time gave me goosebumps, I hope one day I can experience the same...
@NinjaOfFire24 I would love a light-cycle for a car. It would have to be the kind from Legacy though since they are the ones that can actually slow down, stop, not leave a trail, and turn on more than a 90 degree angle.

I LOVED Legacy because it sorta plays on my interest to have a connection with whomever created this universe & that s/he may not be "perfect" as most assume. Quorra is lucky for having personally interacted w/the "creator" of her world, the emotions in her voice as she explained meeting him the 1st time gave me goosebumps, I hope one day I can experience the same...

@NinjaOfFire24 I would love a light-cycle for a car. It would have to be the kind from Legacy though since they are the ones that can actually slow down, stop, not leave a trail, and turn on more than a 90 degree angle.
Just imagine though, walk out into the parking lot jump forward and spawn a bike.

this film does pwn avatar in my personal view . yea scripting might have been better, but i think they did the tron world justice , which many other remakes/sequels etc failed at doing..and yea the soundtrack rocks.

I LOVE the music from this movie, especially the main theme such as The Grid :)...!!! Daft Punk is great, there's a lot of emotion in their music for the movie.

okay i might sound stupid but i have a question: What or who is TRON? i watched the first movie and from what i understand, TRON is a program that Flynn meets and helps him defeat the master control program. But here, in the 2nd movie, TRON is the world? i'm so confused:P
