Why, WHY??? EVERY SINGLE time I do a youtube search for a movie scene or song I love, all the results are too high pitched. This isn't how the credits sequence actually sounds. Would somebody please post this great scene and do it right for once?
Even though people consider this film a flop?! Thank you Bryan Singer for giving me the Superman experience one last time! Zak Snyder can now do what ever he wants with Man of Steel! Thank you Bryan for giving me the final send off to my child hood Superman!
@UploaderRandomAnime Don't get me wrong, I actually liked Superman Returns but felt it lacked a true epic feel that movies like spider-man and the dark knight have. Lex Luther is a good villian but not that epic like Doomsday or someone else.
@5613n8 yeah maybe cuz in other superhero movies both the hero and the villian can give a good fight hand to hand..but here lex luthor can only use his brains and kryptonite to defeat superman
Same here. Saw this in a packed cinema and everyone cheered and clapped at the end of the opening credits. We were all fired up. But the mvie was just so-so and could've been so much better. We wanted to be inspired by the man of steele! Instead we got a soppy soap opera : (
@LeslieChimes completely disagree with you, the best was Superman The Movie opening credits. The problem with the opening credits on returns, too much happening in the background and credits moving too fast.
@MrJKA2000 Actually Singer said that Returns was a direct sequel to the Donner Superman films. That is why he was gone in the beginning cause he was looking for any more survivors of Krypton after Zod showed up in part 2.

I remember when I first saw this movie in the theater, EVERYONE started clapping and cheering their asses off when that Superman Insignia started rolling in.
An absolutely stellar opening sequence. The vision really evokes the emotion one feels when you listen to that fantastic music. Most of the actual 'words' are barely comprehenable though, flying at you like that. Ironically, it's John Williams' credit that gets obscured the most.
Be nice. But I agree in that I thought it was awesome. I'm sorry they're going to reboot it. All they needed to do was bring in a big villain for the second one, like Doomsday or Metallo.
I love the intro, Bryan Singer did a great job combining the old music and words from Marlon Brando as Jor-El from the first Superman and putting them into the new movie with the scene of Krypton being destroyed. Love it. Even though Superman Returns wasn't as good as I thought it would be, Bryan did an o.k. job, just needed more excitement. Hope the next Superman is even better.
what's with the more excitement? what did you need? some more exploding titties? chris reeves LOATHED the sequels to superman because there was such little emphaisis on the acting and exploration of superman's more human side... I think routh did a GREAT job on re-establishing the character AS a character... you could've had your exploding titties in the sequels.. Routh's superman seemed closer to reeves version in superman one than anything I've seen.

Someone can help me? =)
I want to know what the name of the little 'rif' played in 0:10 to 0:54.
It's just a variation of the main theme or is a song a part?
MrGleenCross 4 months ago
@MrGleenCross a variation of the main theme, it's used in the previous movies as well

Anyone else get all nostalgic hearing Marlon Brando at the beginning? It was kinda my favorite part...

@pookoos ya, by far

If only the opening title sequence could live up to the travesty that followed. Apart from Brandon Routh...this was a fail on almost every level.

@5613n8 o.o bad story? i disagree why do ppl think that a movie about a superhero without a super villian is crap?

@jsb779 they had no choice, there is no techno score that has the majesty of a john williams score.

Very good intro. Movies was not good though. Reeves will forever be Superman, period!
efc26 2 years ago 4
Amen to that. Although we should keep an open mind for other actors who could bring something else to the role, like the Bond franchise.

I thought Routh was a perfect choice seeing as it sadly could not be Reeve.

Tom Welling is quality in Smallville. But it wouldn't feel right if he was on the big screen.
