My delta flight wasn't just delayed by a few hours but a few weeks! I was stuck in America trying to get back to England for 2 weeks! To be honest though it wasn't deltas fault it was that ash cloud the iclandic volcano produced! It still put me off flying with them again though :)

I used to work as a travel agency. United and Delta are connected, and they could care less about their customers and where they are going to end up. And if a flight ends up canceled, oh well, you're screwed, as they take forever. Oh... andddd AirCanada.... they suck. Save the hassel and flight WestJet if you can hahaha.

I've taken United at least 4 times and I think they're awesome :D but they're really expensive -____- I was on their 8 hour flight from Washington D.C. to Germany (for a connecting flight) then I came back home on a 14 hour plane ride from Dubai :D

P.S. I always try to fly with just a carry on in case these situations arise. If your flight is changed in a hurry you cannot always count on your baggage getting changed in those precious few minutes. When it has happened I was pleasantly surprised that they delivered them to me the next day no matter how far I was away from the airport. :)

Flying can sometimes be a nightmare, not so much because of the airlines, but the airports im my opinion. If you explain your situation to United they can usually hook you up with another airline to get to your destination on time with no extra cost to you. They have done this for me a few times. It never hurts to ask especially with a supervisor. They are more than nice and will help you if they can. xo

Whenever I go back home to visit family in the US I always take Air Canada. They never lost my luggage or messed up my tickets, the flight attendants are really nice. I had one flight attendant that liked my little girl so much, she took her to the cabin to play with the buttons. The tickets are normally cheaper on their website than on a travel site. I've never been on Virgin so I can't compare the two.

The staff at Toronto airport interrogated me in a room for hours, asking me personal questions about my life and pulling my underwear out of my luggage and laughing. They gave me no reason for doing it and eventually let me go with no explanation. Worst airport experience ever!! And I agree, Virigin are the best!! :) safe travel x
