Is there anything else you have to do before or after installing the ram? Like change any settings? I saw for you it just accepted it automatically, but I read in some review that the person had to change something in Bios. I'm a novice at this, have never upgraded anything myself, but if it's as easy as it seems in your video, I think I could do that.
@GroovySprite From what I've read, if you have the option to disable the Boot Booster at the BIOS screen, do that. If not, just try upgrading the RAM and if nothing happens, just put in the old RAM. I didn't have the option to do so, so I just went ahead and did the upgrade.
@PaleoSteno Thanks, I can google how to do that. :) Do you think this ram I saw on Amazon would work -- Corsair 2 GB DDR3 Laptop Memory CMSO2GX3M1A1333C9?
@Ulikazu Eep, that doesn't sound good. :/ Is it just loose? Just try your best to fit the cover back on and screw it back as tight as you can. Just try to make sure the cover isn't jutting out at all... if it's still loose, use some masking tape or something so it won't fall off.
Hey man! You have helped me a SHITTON! And therefore you derserve a subscriber ;)
I just got it yesterday and i did an unboxing video. But one thing that bothers me:
On the forums and in the manual, it says to disabl Boot Booster before doing an attempt. Only thing is, i dont have the Boot Booster option in the BIOS. Did you disable the Boot Booster first? Also, since i dont have the Boot Booster option, what could happen if i did an atempt to do it anyways. Please answer ASAP.
About the boot booster, I don't seem to have that option either, so I'm not quite sure what the manual is calling for. Are you just trying to upgrade the RAM? If so, try it out and if it doesn't work, just remove it and put in the old RAM.
@PaleoSteno yeah, i know and 1215b is more powerful but, unfortunately, it has a glossy display which i don't wanna get... it's very difficult to work with glossy displays. :/

@PaleoSteno Hey man! Reporting back from said computer :)
I managed to get it on...But one corner (the one right by the screw) Is up by just a half-full milimeter out. It aint much, but still noticeable.
As a thank you, i can make you an Intro :)

so it has only one slot , which is already used by 1g, right?
if you use other versions of win 7 than starter can you upgrade up to 4gb or more?
i wanna buy this netbook but am planning to buy a 4g ram chip. if i wouldn't be able to use it, then i would probably have to choose another model....
krosser2123 7 months ago
@krosser2123 There's another model similar to this one which is the 1215b, that one is up to 8gb

Useful information. My younger sister has an Asus netbook, so I'll come back to this if she ever wants to upgrade the RAM :)
aposticism 7 months ago
@aposticism Thanks! Yeah, the Asus netbooks are really well built machines. Though I heard their desktops aren't quite as good.

I had a computer I replaced the memory in. The thing didn't work afterwards. lol
