I'm lucky, I've got the Ladies and Gentlemen video ..they are non stop through out the whole thing...what talent , there will never be a greater rock band!
The best music the stones ever made was done between 1968 and 1972. Best tours, best music. The Mick Taylor years. Yeah, I know, Brian was technically with the band until june '69, but he was drugged out during beggars banquet and contributed nada.
Since 1973 the stones have largely sucked. Mere ghosts of what they once were. It's a shame that kids today have no idea what it was like to witness a live show during those years. Pure magic. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife.
The show in full is available on Wolfgangs Vault sans video. 72 and 73 they could do no wrong, but why doesn't Keith ever get a nod? Jagger is annoying, yeah, but a tireless performer charged with sexual energy as this as well as almost all live performances demonstrate.Ron Wood does not suck either. Taylor no doubt rocks, but he does not define the rolling stones. Note-the Venue was changed to Brussels from France because Keith was banned after the dialasis thing.
Why is this film languishing in bootleg hell? It's a full length professionally filmed performance. Ladies and Gentlemen The Rolling Stones must come out on DVD.
Some think this song is better live, not me. The version on Let it Bleed has a loping, slow-paced, almost trancy menace. Like the "rambler" is creeping up on you behind your back.
Live it just becomes a typical Stones barnburner, with lots of exaggerated breaks and Jagger calisthenics. I don't feel the menace.
The recorded version is the Stones' all time best track IMO (maybe it's a tie with Satisfaction). I've never heard a live version of a song that was better than the record.
Live music is never as good as a record. The Beatles sounded like a middle school garage band live.
beggars banquet was a masterpiece but had absolutely nothing to do with brian jones. mick taylor took the music to a whole 'nother level. if you can't hear that, you're deaf or your have a crap musical palate. mick taylor was so under-rated by everyone except for... hmm CHARLIE WATTS, MICK JAGGER, BILL WYMAN AND KEITH RICHARDS? even richards gives taylor his props, even though he plays it down to boost his own ego (even though richards is my personal fav guitar player EVER i still am honest)
Lets hope the band release all the '72-73 Material soon with a proper mix. Trouble is they sound too good with Mick Taylor and are a little embarrassed.
I want to thank you for this, I just got "Ladies and Gentelmen the Rolling Stones" DVD....WOW....MidRam is my all time fav. of theirs. My band played it for the El Toro high school (CA) prom and they went crazy!!!
Now THAT's an interesting thought--playing a song about rape, murder and mayhem for your high school prom! Love the idea and great to hear they went crazy. The best version is YaYa's.
AWESOME!!!100* Watch my version!!!:)))

Yes i Have the Remastered 73 Bootlegs & i agree although in 72 they were just as awesome as a band, This Clip is from the 25 x 5 Documentary.

The Brussels version is way too sloppy (like the whole show). Ladies and Gentlemen will always be the best way to show the Stones in their prime.

I believe this is the first time a bluesman (or any poet for that matter) has used the word "knife" as a metaphor for a "cock". Brilliant!
"I'll stick my knife right down yer throat baby, and it hurts!"
