You're work is amazing, some of the best and most popular companies out there don't concentrate to this much detail, mostly due to deadlines and/or engines, the type of game or how much they're working with. This, sir is amazing keep on going and this game will be a legend.
I have to say this to anyone who doesn't know this, tappio is probably the best sound designer in the industry. Because all of his sound effects are organic, and he can create some of the most realistic, beautiful and horrifying sound effects with little to no use of a computer, where the main stream industry uses synthesized sound effects generated by computers. He did the sound effects for amnesia the dark decent. His work is INSANELY good, and you can notice the difference in quality.
@tehlastflax You need an understanding of how the game is supposed to work, along with its predecessor Lugaru. The rabbits in this game are like bodybuilder in strength. It's supposed to be like that. Everything else is supposed to be as realistic as possible, and they are doing an absolutely phenomenal job.
I think there should be an animation where when the model is colliding with bushes/trees, that they will try to cover their face, or look away. Some way of how realistically you would react to doing such a thing.
I think if you add water to the game, you should make it so that when a character walks through it, then their clothing gets darker and they move a bit slower for a while.
Actually, many games today use a tecnique (yes, i spelled it wrong.) similar to this, with little performance difference, just darken the texture a bit and move a bit slower. If the Pheonix Engine can handle the slow movement from plants, and the advanced blood splatting/dripping, it could handle water in some way/shape/form.
@TheLordpeanuts He did the same thing with blood - where it was "absorbed" into the clothes and fur of the characters - so to transfer that over to water doesn't seem too hard, mostly due to what I've seen Dave pull off of course.
Suggestion: For different terrains like sand and dirt if your character touches them a staining should be able to happen to happen based off the surfaces it touches. Along with in some levels you should have dirt or sand blowing around in the air and staining clothing.
Another suggestion: day/night transitions & weather such as rain, and snow precipitation.
Another suggestion: water & swimming machinates maybe adding rivers and streams to maps.
Would just like to say that like I really enjoy watching these videos and i really want the game but you see... im British and don't have american $ so it would be great if it could support £ as well im sure i speak for many other people thx :)
when overgrowth is finished will the game play only be these challenges or is this just an initial game type that is used because it is quick to implement?
I personally would love it if the game became a more realistic version of mount and blade except you never go into a large map and have more like 10 or so accomplices.
You should add optimization for multi-core computers. I noticed that my fourth core is bearing almost all of the load, causing my game to lag occasionally.
i remember playing Lugaru a long time ago, and it was awesome. Now i see this game, and i want to play it right now! This game looks great, I'm going to go preorder it asap :)
I think you need to make the running animation look more realistic. I run track and I have never seen anyone run so stiff and straight up,when you run you are mostly leaning forward and your head is down, also I think it would look a bit better if you made the ears go back when they are fighting to make it look like they are trying to protect their ears as they are very important to Rabbits, also when the rabbits are running

Any plans to ever put Overgrowth in the Humble Indue Bundle? Just wondering. Have been watching Alpha changes for a couple months now and might be finally ready to put the investment down. Had too many games to buy before now.
@TeamModernWarfail I guess they'll do that some long time after initial release, if at all. There's no point in having your game in a bundle when it didn't have a chance before to earn money on its own IMO
Wow, what an amazing creation. I'm very excited to see it get made. While it's very unlikely, I'd love to see this come out on xbox live's arcade. My PC isn't all that amazing, and I'm a little doubtful about what I'd be able to run on it. While it wouldn't be quite as amazing as the pc version, it'd certainly still be great. Either way this is by far one of the best games I've seen in a very, very long time.
The fact that you taped the recording of audio files leads me to believe that you will be doing somewhat of a documentary on the creation of this game, If so I would love to see something like that.

@AklyonX That's what I'm thinking I've been looking on ebay for an upgrade but really the only good one is the Extreme edition which is really expensive still :(
@AluminumHaste An i5 is quite good if it'll fit your motherboard's socket, even if its not the best i5. i7 is better of course, but also more expensive...

@AluminumHaste 6GB Ram is about as good as it gets. As far as I understand, you don't need above 8 unless you're running a server of some kind. Regardless, ram seems like it wouldn't be a problem in this type of game. I would say graphics+processor.
@ZechsMerquise73 I just bought a QX9300 Extreme quad core for my laptop, it's no i7 but it's the best I can get for my older platform. So we'll see if that helps.
I always watch with anticipation at the end of the videos wondering if Turner will be victorious, or die horribly... Usually it is the latter, but I still root for him anyway. ;3
Damn this game looks better with every video. It really shows how passionate you guys are about this project. Just wish i had a computer powerful enough to handle this game... Either way this game is sure to be amazing.
@Mattias01001010 Yeah, it's coming to Steam, and a while back they added the api for it, which means if you are logged into Steam, you can use the Shift-Tab feature :)
@Mattias01001010 from what I've read, yes this will be available on steam. Also, a few videos back he said he added steam overlay support.
You've also pre-ordered which is great. This means that you've bought EVERY version that will be released.
If you were to just buy it though steam later you wouldn't get the Linux version for example. But through the pre-order you'll get the Steam, Windows (non-steam), Mac and Linux version available for use.
Your open develpment is definitely one of the best things that ever happened to gaming community. The insight we all managed to get from these videos (and the tech posts before you started making them regularly) is invaluable. I thank you on behalf of the community for being such great developers.
I giggled like a little schoolgirl when I saw the rabbit collide through that big tree and go into rag doll. If that's not David pressing the ragdoll button, this is officially the greatest game ever, for that incredible detail.
this game should actually be really badass i mean like none other game has any of these features its AMAZING!

Point cloud is an awesome idea, never would have thought of it. Especially using that to create a simplified collision mesh.

Y'all should have the end-of-video fight scenes tell a story of some sort.
