The Beastie Boys are a 100% bona fide hip hop group. Mainstream they may have been because they are white, but some of their tracks - this one, Sure Shot, Alive, So Watcha Want, Jimmy James amongst many others have some of the best beats and production of any genre, especially hip hop. I'm 36, white and British and without the Beastie Boys I'd probably have never discovered half of the hip hop crews that I still listen to today
