Sure they could. Except the kids are citizens, and they are getting a good education here (compared to what they'd get in Mexico), and their family decided to keep the kids here for their own sake. But the mom was not here illegally. She was legal, just not yet a citizen, and got deported because she didn't know the citizenship status of her friends. In other words, she did everything legally, like we supposedly want them to do, and still, because of a simple oversight, got deported.

As for Mexico: you need to learn the history. The US offered 25-30 million for Mexico's northern territory before the war. Mexico declined. 18 million was paid after the war as restitution...& to make ignorant people believe that they actually bought it.
