the game wasn't so bad, it reminds me of games like nam 1975, and dynamite duke, and that kinda gameplay matches what the punisher dose, too bad there wasn't any one on one boss fights like in dynamite duke, thanks for the reveiw, but i don't agree, i may have to pick up a copy some day, so i can see how bad it really is, but ljn was known for bad games in the nes era
This game was damn decent. It was doing blow the fuck out of everything asshole mode gameplay years before Revolution X, 3-D FPS or 3-D sandbox games like Grand Theft Auto came around. Probably the first game where you could leave bullet holes in stuff too.
It was fun to shoot the hell out of cars and buildings looking for power ups.
1 last comment, I just played it and get this, I was running low on life where the next shot would kill me, recovered the health recovery and died immediately after I got it and the recovery showed on my screen. Apparently the recovery is slow in this game.
@TheDeftGamer This game was developed by Beam Software, same guys who made the Back to the Future games for the NES, but yeah, they were published by LJN.
to be honest, spider-man and venom maximum carnage was average; they recycled the bosses too much and there's a delay when you throw. People will buy bad games; one bought tagin' dragon for 65 bucks. At least the nes punisher had good controls and useful weapons. Mechanized attack is superior though since you have music and don't have to worry about stopping your fire to dodge bullets; you just had to fire quick enough.
Well i played it when it came out and believe me back then, it was a fun shooter. I rented twice. It was pretty easy though. Seen from nowadays, yeah, its different
If anything a Punisher video game in the 80's or 90's should have been something like Contra

I think the Genesis version was better. Only problem with the Genesis one is that it is short as fuck.

Oh and LJN didn't do the Genesis one, I believe it was Capcom that did the Genesis one.
