Our light has a dark side, an accompanying shadow self that walks behind or before. Kevin's music has always had this quality. As for Kevin joining Genesis, I've always thought it couldn't work unless they were sincerely willing to reinvent themselves. But we will never know, of course.
It's kind of a funny story how i came to love this song. I heard it once when i was little. my dad blasted it. all i did was tilt my head and get lost in some void. Then i grew up, took some music classes (theory, performance-based, you name it) then he blasted this song the other day. all i did was tilt my head and lose myself in this excellence. My mind is perpetually blown. haha
@equalibrium56 Kevin idolized Genesis, he even covered 'The Lamb...' in its entirety with his band Giraffe. It would ave been interesting to say the least
This isnt really all that rare if you know where to look. The only problem is that nobody has been looking. His fan-base was small when he was alive, and hasnt grown that much. Thats why I put these up.
@Ecram32 It's now 2 years later and his fanbase is growing. Just the views on my and other KG vids is proof. HOWEVER...it's far too late in the scheme of things isn't it? I miss Kev everyday and never met the man.
BTW..this song is a monster and takes on a whole new meaning now.
Mr. Hutton, I've heard of him. 13 years after his death, I am still discovering more KG. I actually lived in Pasadena during KG's time...and while I discovered him on the radio, I never realized his studio was so close to where I lived. But all these years later, I am still loving his talent. Thanks for this rare recording.

He was lightyears ahead of Genesis, that would have been a major step down for him

I always said Toy Matinee/ KG was the best band to never make it big. He was a true genius. A great loss.

He would have made a nice addition to Genesis.

The chant at the end makes the hair on my neck stand up. Brilliant stuff.
