Not really, I haven't been PC gaming much lately. Games like CSS and TF2 run on the 8600GT alone, so it being just a dedicated PhysX card doesn't really show me any difference. Maybe some more frames, but since I get way way way past 60fps, I don't visually notice anything. Nothing on the PC interests me, so I'm planning on getting an HD capture card and making videos using my PS3 and what not.

how did you get the 8600gt to run as a physx card cause im getting a gtx 260 and iv got an old 9600gso i wont to use as physx card pls???.

You just install the latest drivers, and it's an option within the Nvidia control panel. "Set PhysX configuration" You don't need the SLI bridge, even though I used it for looks. You just put the 8600 onto another pci-e x16 slot and enable it within the control panel. Hope this helps!

I spent well over a grand on it.. So I'd want at least $850.. 900ish USD? Especially with the Bill Owen autograph, side panel and front bezel mods.. Along with my cable management holes that made the case that much better. It's just a tiny step below a Core i7 machine, love my new q9550. :)

lol Are you interested in it or something? I'm willing to sell it because I like trying out new parts and cases, but I don't have any money to get new stuff. So selling my PC parts is my only option sadly..

Because it's a factory made computer by HP, they don't specify what motherboard it uses.. So I can't tell you what you could put in there to better it. One thing is for certain, you can't use any Intel processors. You can only use the AMD Phenom (I don't think you can use Phenom 2) family processors. As the same with Intel motherboards only using Intel processors. All you can do is upgrade the GPU, RAM, (DDR2 800MHZ) HDDs and PSU. I don't want to recommend any CPUs and not have it work for you..

Yes, your monitor's DVI or VGA cable goes into the back of the card.

Did you get an XFX one? I saw that they made a new 9800gt that doesn't have a 6 or 8 pin for dedicated power. The only thing is a lot of those cards are overheating or just straight up failing I hear.. So I suppose you gotta stay on your heels with that one.

EVGA's Precision program. Not sure if the XFX card will work, but it still is an Nvidia card. So go give it a try and see if it works. (it's an overclocking and temp monitoring program for EVGA Nvidia cards)

What happens if I use a 9800gt (needs 400w)card with my 300w power supply? Will it run..? Or will it run but not run games

If it shows anything up on screen, then it's working. But you could perhaps bottleneck the performance with not having enough power. That has happened to a friend of mine, he solved the problem by getting a new power supply with more wattage.

I don't think you will harm it though, I believe it would just not perform to it's full potential if there isn't enough power, that's all. If there seriously isn't enough juice, it won't display any picture anyway.

Is that on full load? My card stays in the 40's and 50's idle, while up to 60-70ºC on full load.

It's still a pretty new setup and I think I'm just getting over my issues with it.. So I'm going to overclock it again soon, atm it's stock 2.83Ghz. My first attempt ended up with getting locked a couple hours later. I kept stock voltages and tried going from 2.83 to 3.. Funny that I got my q6600 from 2.4-3 on stock voltages.
