I wonder if you will play as Mercer in the beginning trying to survive an attack by the military. Like in Star wars the force unleashed where you first play as the main characters master Darth Vader. Maybe you just play as Mercer first and then later you infect Heller. Just a thought.

How is that lame? It's James Heller. The guy can kill hundreds of infected by himself and survive the Red Zone on multiple occasions, and that's only when he's human. If anything, it'll be fun to see how we get to fight the infected as a powerful human.

Except...Mercer didn't actually lose anything. He just thought that he did. As the Blacklight Virus, it's life began when it infected Mercer's corpse. But since Mercer had been dead for a while, the brain suffered damage and most of his memories were lost. So Alex didn't lose anything, it just didn't gain all of Alex's memories, leading it to believe it had amnesia. And yes, even without powers, Heller would still go after Alex if he thought that he could.

Except that PARIAH is in BLACKWATCH custody, probably has no idea how to do anything (being in containment your whole life really tends to mess with your learning ability), and has shown no outwards signs of infection. So he's either relatively powerless, his abilities aren't as powerful or open as Heller and Mercer's, or needs an outside source to gain his powers.

That's not what it means. We don't know what the 'final' purpose is. For all we know, the final purpose is to be the same as a normal human, but immortal. Or the same as Alex and Heller, but with slightly better control. If PARIAH was truly powerful, he would sit around letting himself be experimented on.

Because Alex can't be controlled or commanded. It's one of the main reasons Alex is so important. Alex and SH were born from a new strain of infection, leaving them 'out of the genetic loop' when it came to the hive-mind. Alex is just plain too strong to just sit there and listen to anyone. And SH was too scared of what would happen to him if he disobeyed Greene. Besides, why would PARIAH sit there if he was so powerful? Why not break out and spread it himself?

Or he's just trapped. I don't know if he can consume people (his powers are never revealed), but being in captivity tends to weaken people. So if he's like Alex and can consume people, then being trapped for so long without consumption would really make him weak.

Most games in the 80' and 90's were made specifically to be hard to beat, since back then almost any non-RPG game would only take you about 5 hours to complete them. So they were made insanely frustrating, so the players had to play even longer just to win. (Like how FF games boast 50 hours of game play, but about 35 of those hours are spent grinding.) With a game like Prototype 2, they don't need that 'super difficult' stuff just to buff out the game. It's fun without it.

But it's just illogical for the final boss - let alone Alex Mercer to get beaten by the usual tactic (done on any other boss) - Dodge until the character gets tired and attack/spam, or just spam one attack over and over.

I mean hell, for Prototype 1, i had higher difficulties at some regular story missions then the final boss. Most gameplays of the final boss on youtube are people spamming one way of beating him over and over.

Video-Game bosses have to be that way though. If they fought the way any normal person would (Example: Not fighting in a predictable manner with holes in their defenses and resting in front of the enemy) no game would ever get beaten. Go find any game with a super-powerful endboss and imagine how that fight would have gone if they didn't have a particular pattern. All you'd find is a lot of pissed gamers that can't win.

I mean if they were to change defense systems (thus having different weaknesses), players wouldn't be as frustrated, but actually taking time and getting more concentrated to remember how to counter each one. You know i believe that the fight with the boss should be more strategic. The games right now are being beat by 6 year olds.

I am just saying that the satisfaction at the end (from beating the boss,) is what makes me (can't judge for others) rate the game good or average.

The bosses do have different weaknesses, but not every fight is gonna be Einstein VS. Hawking over here. Sometimes, the best strategy is just to beat the hell out of the Boss. I rate games by the Story and Gameplay, not just on how satisfying the boss battle was. (The Bioshock boss battle was pathetically easy, but it's still one of the best games of all time) Difficulty shouldn't (in my opinion) be a games defining facter. Enjoyability, story, and gameplay should be.

By the end of the game, Heller will have enough skill and strategy, not to mentioned evolved powers, to equal Mercer if not have the advantage. Heller, being a soldier with training, will learn faster than Mercer could. So it's not like it's being the ore-gen-all has anything special to it. Modern games of old franchises and most modern games in general, also outclass the old.

I think that the monster's obeyed Heller at the end because Heller is like a Leader Hunter.

Remember how Alex said he was the only Leader Hunter left in the first game, and James is just like Alex, but possibly a little better. So maybe you will be able to use your status as a Leader Hunter in Prototype 2.

I've read several articles including the ones on Wikia, found out that his family was killed the next day after his call and finally I'm kinda stroke by his story. I rewatched the Homecoming trailer and even... almost started to cry.
