I was born& grew up in Oil City &,graduated H/S in 1951 .I returned to my home in Torrance ,CA Mon theOct 24th from O/C after attending my 60th H/S reunion.

I grew up in Oil City, Pennsylvania in the 1950s. Oil City is a hop skip and jump from Titusville. Oil was discovered in Titusville, as Johnny Cash sings about, but I think it was shipped to Oil City for distribution via the Allegheny River.

This is wonderful! Johnny Cash tells the story of oil, from Drakes Well in Titusville, PA to later times. I used to watch the Johnny Cash show all the time when I was 9 or 10 years old, but I don't remember this episode. Oil has been in my blood since I first fell in love with the old Pennsylvania oil wells when I was 4 years old. Now I work in the oil and gas industry and love it!
