  • Cheers! You have a really nice video

  • if he would love the djariye more than his wife he had the right to divorce his wife and re-marry with the one he loves. but it was a hard process. sultan's mother should allow the marriage, the religious leader should give consent. everything was under heavy rules, everything had to depend on heavy procedures. we are talking about a court society and a court culture, not a brothel.

  • the sultans were married only by one woman and she was called the "haseki". she was officially the wife of the sultan. but in order to enlage his number of male offsprings (which would became the next sultan after him) he could have sex with the "cariye" of the harem (read as djariye). They were not slaves, but they were the members of the harem society. all of them were highly educated with the court culture, capable of writing nice poems, painting and playing various musical instruements.

  • great

  • "iman sings the Qur'an" ? you read the Qur'an not sing it

  • yeahh harem fantasias r really stupid. u can see harem room with ur eyes. maximum 4-5 people can stay in this room. they r talking about 400 girls.. f.cked western propaganda machine printing lies about turkish history.

  • omg i couldnt stop aughing when he started talking about the cameras loll

  • 400 women? did you count them all? harem means hidded part of the house where the women and children live. In harems soultans women (may of the soultans had 1 woman), sisters, children, mother etc lived

  • also Quran is read not song.

  • nice footage, but with all due respect, the narrator has a horrible America accent and totally mispronounces the Turkish names...tohp-cappy? for real?? as an American student of the Turkish language, it's painful to hear!

  • thats weird.when i visited the palace barely anyone was there.

i miss my home in turkey so much :(

  • İstanbul TARİHİ IŞILTILAR ŞEHRİ !

  • good

  • i love you turkey, I did been turk ,turkish people is friendly i did seen that place very well

  • What? 400 women? Fascist orientalists and clever tour organizers combined and now sexual tales & fantasies :) Harem means "the hidden" in Ottoman Turkish. the hidden thing is always interesting. And tales are invented :) Turks do not talk about their sexual life even today. this is secret. it is stg cultural. Harem is the house of Sultan where he lives his unofficial life. And all women are not his wife. the upper limit is 4;)

  • The area of the Topkapi palace now wider. New treasures hidden in the stores will be open to visitor in a few months.

  • Great travel. Nice explanation.
