it can mean 'Red Moon' if you translate it literally, or 'Red Dawn' if you translate it as Kishimot-sensei does. I think 'tsuki' can mean bothe 'dawn' and 'moon' but 'moon' is more common.

Though I think, "The Power," would be an awesome meaning for the word, "Akatsuki," means, "Dawn." That's the reason for the red clouds on their jackets/cloaks/coats/whatever-­you-want-to-call-them.
