    He drove with care, shit i'd take the corners slowly too if i were in a limited made car, you'd be fucked up for life if you wrecked a car like that :P

  • übelege mir einen speedster oder elise zuzulegen.habe mich über den lotus informiert und nix gutes gehört über den motor,soll wohl probleme machen.wird wohl doch eher ein opel werden..gibt ja sonst nix vergleichbares in der preisklasse.

  • Kommt darauf an. Die Elise mit der Toyota-Maschine gilt als standfest. Die früher verwendeten Rover-Motoren sollen alle Nase lang Probleme bereiten. Problem bei Lotus: die Ersatzteilpreise sind hoch. Beim Speedster übrigens auch, abgesehen von Motor und Getriebe, da eben von Opel. Aber ein Scheinwerfer kostet rund 1300 Euro und die Dinger gehen gerne kaputt.

  • Ich kann Dir sagen, daß ein Lotus richtig Spaß macht. Aber unzuverlässig sind sie allemal.

    Der Fahrer hier hat Bums unter'm Hintern, aber die Linie ist zum Kotzen. Fahren kann er nicht. In dem engen Kurs hat er gegen die 1,8t von einem M5 naturgemäß die besseren Karten.

  • Doch, da gibt es ähnliche Möglichkeiten: eine Elise oder Exige Mk.2 mit Turbolader und 260+PS geht auf der Strecke vergleichbar und eine Exige Mk.1 mit 200+PS ist sogar schneller. Leicht eben. Das große Geheimnis der ganzen Lotus-Fahrzeuge.

  • Wenn im m5 ein guter Heizer sitzen würde würde es anders aussehen ..Die Strecke muss schon nur komplett aus Kurven bestehen damit der Speedster sein vorteil von wendigkeit und handlichkeit ausspielen kann.Meiner Meinung nach geht der M5 in geraden so dermasen weg das der Speedsterfahrer nur kucken kann.Der Fahrer macht es..

    Ich habe auch mit meinem 325i(H&R gewindefwk)einen M3 mit 420ps in kurven fertiggemacht.Hätte anders ausgesehen wenn ein guter Fahrer im M3 wäre.!

  • Cool video.

    One thing to work on is your hand positioning on the steering wheel. On the track you rarely need more than 1/2 turn of lock and for this reason you should leave your hands in a quarter to three position. No need to feed the wheel.

    A couple of times you ended up with one hand in the 12 o'clock position or crossing over which isn't ideal.

    Quality of the video is nice and you've got good taste in cars.

    Work on the steering and you'll be one step closer to good driving.

  • I'm disabled with my right arm. Since my very bad motorcycle accindent back in 2002 my triceps in my right shoulder has no nerve connection to my brain anymore. So I had to learn to act without that. Movement is limited, power is very low and pain is my daily companion. So my steering may look funny, but it's the only way I can do driving at all. Sorry for that.

  • Well you have a fine reason for not adopting quarter to three then. I guess it's just a guess of what works for you then.

    Motor biker...might explain the choice of car haha. A guy I know had one of these but I never managed to pester him for a ride before he sold it. He's got an exige now I def. need to get my bum parked in the passenger seat of that. o

    Pour l'instant je roule en Tigra, mais j'ai pense m'offrir une Speedster Turbo d'ici quelques années (une fois le diplôme et les €€€ en poche)

  • You're right! Still working on it. Have just begun this year and now it's winter and anything goes, waiting for spring. There will be a lot more to come.

  • Go drive an Elise or a similar mid-engine car like the VXR by yourself faster than I did. Then we are talking. Videos may look unspectacular, but the driving is in deed fast. With an Elise you have to drive neutral round bends or you will go off track.

    You do know what you're talking about anyway, don't you? What's your reference? Send me a link of your video showing you driving "good". I'm curious.

  • thank you so much i cant belive they only cost that much thats cheeper than the other car i wanted which was a Nissan 350Z they rang in the 30 thousand $. but i guess ill have to pay import fees and stupid insurance as well. damn i want one of these so bad. i need to get my lisence though and a job really really soon. i can deal without the turbo because if i got the turbo the insurance goes way up i just want the car =D=D=D lol thanks for the info mate

  • Most if not any of all built Speedsters are LHD! The Speedster was made by Lotus for the german GM division called Opel an sold mainly in mainland Europe. They also built the Vauxhall VXR220 for the United Kindom. Only these are RHD.

    So buy one Opel Speedster anywhere in mainland Europe and you will get a LHD.

    The only problem is: these cars are rare (7000 built, RHD+LHD) and wanted (prices are rising). But you should get a good(!) Turbo for about $30.000 and a N/A for $25.000.

  • yes it is! i want one of those soo bad im thinking of so many ways on how to get one though there is just one major problem...i live in the US =( and i cant find ANYWERE to get one that meets US driving safty what ever they call it because it has to be a left drive side car in the US i think. but all the Vauxhall's and Opels are left side. this car is soo perfect its fast not too expensive easy to drive and its fucking sexy lol
