my great uncle was a glider piolet in ww2 his plane took on heavy fire and the c-piolet was killed along with a few other soldiers he took it in for a crash landing and lived and hes alive and well now
This has to be the best reenactment of a jump on D-Day. A long time ago i had a chance to talk to one guy who said he had only one jump...D-Day.// But what a jump!
I think band of brothers is one of the best series that really shows some truth of the war and feelings of the soldiers and doesn't make it to heroic in the standpoint of the americans and they show the bad things about war
they could still survive without moscow they still had their soldiers and reserves of munition and food supplies... but it would have been a big fact if russia had lost moscow
srry the battle of stalingrad messed the germanys up. they lost over 300,000 paratroopers. naam123lol russia is so messed up when they lose they fall back and burn wht little food they had. germany was wooping the russians.
I think it was Herman Goering,I may be wrong, it might have been another high ranking Nazi official, but after ww2 when he was asked what was the turnig point of the war (what event led to the defeat of the Nazi's)he said it was the Battle of Britain.
i love that movie my friends grandpa was in wolrd 2 and dropped is st. mair englis he said he hated and he has nightmares of that night i did a report on d-day so i interviewed him
Because brave American pilots were flying those planes on that night. Those guys were heroes. If it weren't for those pilots,D-day wouldnt have gone sucessfully.
Yes, I realize that. But if D-Day had failed anyway, Berlin would have been nuked by winter and the russians would have mercilessly crushed Hitler. Germany had laready lost by this point of the war. And besides, the pilot getting his face blown off was the best bit. Come one, you have to admit! (Jackoff, brave amercian piltos, who gives a shit)
Berlin would never have been nuked in Winter of 1944, cause u wanna know why ?The very first nuclear weapon was detonated in a test which took place in July 1945.The Russians defeated the German army in Berlin at the end of April 1945.If D-day wouldnt have sucessfully...Germany would concentrate its armies to the east and probably wipe out the Red Army, cause there would hardly be any fighting in Western Europe. Also I give a shit about every single person in the armed forces.B.O.B is a true story
I read in a book that they would have nuked berlin in winter, 1944. Firm theory. I'll just have to find my sources.
The only appeal in this show for me is the violence and action. The book appeals to me more than this show, since actors are playing the characters, and I know who most of them are. In the book, AMbrose writes about these men, instead of having actors portray them.
I'm sorry Tehpredator, but the Russians won the war in Europe. The D Day landings, while significant in dividing the German war effort, came very late in the conflict. By June of 1944, the Soviets were already pushing into Romanian territory. In fact, following Operation Barbarossa, at any one time, the Germans had nearly 5/8ths of their force fighting the Russians.
germany wasnt losing yet at d-day you stupid kid they had as good as intire france and were getting more and more land in russia they just had it hard there because russia and germany launced in not 1 step back that they both never retreat or go back wich followed into large losses at both sides
how could they be losing if they were getting more land eastern and got everything what they wanted in the west and next time if u think something like that dont post it, you dont have respect ur shit
omg, YOU ARE A FUCKING RETARD naam123lol. The germans had fucking lost by Dday, read it anywhere in any schoolbook or ask anybody, They had LOST by 1944. And how dare you say I dont know shit, you are obviously a complete cockup of a historian, faggot. Hitler couldn't hold nto the west and the germnas were losing ground in the east. FUCKYOSELF!
Because they wanted to destroy the third reich??? I'm saying that there was no goiung back for Hitler by D Day. There was no way he could have salvaged a victory by then .
It was a fight to the death for Germany. The allies had to scrape back every last foot of Germany to the middle of Berlin. Germany had not "lost" yet but it certainly could not win fighting a losing battle. In most similar situations, where there is no hope of victory just slow defeat by attrition, the nation in question sees that they will only lose more lives, destroy their entire country's infrastructure and be worse off than just capitulating. But Hitler took it to the end!
When I first saw this I couldn't imagine what the men that actually went through this were feeling. I can't ever say how much respect and honor I feel for the brave men that fought WW2 and came back. Truly these are heroes that we forever will be in debt to. I'm sad to know that every day that passes we lose more and more.
no you wouldn't want to be there, you idiot if you actually try and imagine the situation, of being so close to death, and planes falling out the sky you wouldn't want to be in it would you!?
Answer to Albo -The "ropes" attached to the plane are called static lines. Paratroopers clip the static line, attached to their chutes, to a wire inside the plane so when they jump, the line automatically pulls the chute open. Troopers don't have to pull a ripcord to deploy the chute -- since in the heat of the moment, some would forget to.
my grandfather was in the battle of the bulge and he was ground infantry so he got wounded in the back with mortar shrapnel. he was there in the snow bleeding. then the Germans found him, but they took care of him because he had a German last name. i just know that was God. and its a miracle that anyone came out of this
what company was your grandfather in? because my grandfather fought in battle of the bulge too he led his company because it had just been caught completely off guard when the germans made their advance. He was the only field officer because the german snipers zeroed in on the commanding officers.
the guys in the planes at 0:25 and 1:00 never even had a change to jump. No telling how many more went that way. That takes alot of courage to jump like the 101st, and i respect that.
In a Time of Piece... We are all Friends... Black, White... Muslim or Jews. We are the Mankind. We live all in Harmony. The Attack´s in the United States of America on the 11. September. An Act of War. The German´s will fight with all Country´s of the World... To Safe the Humanity Freedom...
I´am a German. I Hate the Nazis. I never forget this glory Men, they risk there Lives, to save the Freedom in the World. My Grandfather was in the Wehrmacht... The 6. Army in Stalingrad... The Terror there was unbelievable. The Death was there Comrad...
We dont never forget the Allied Soldiers and there Crusade to save the World... Never!
You know what's sad , half the troops didn't even make to the ground during jumps sometimes, c-47s were shot down but AA guns before they got off. , or they were killed in mid air.
Oh can you imagine making this jump. Wow...I talked to Frank Perconte who is in the BAND OF BROTHERS said he pisst his pants ...he said the noise was unbelievable and it was amazing anyone made it to the ground with all the planes flying pieces of plane other parachutist not hit your chute. Wow
Nice! I really love this serie because its so realistic, what happened here was almost excactly what happened in real because the hero's who survived told everything
I believe it's the M-1 Garand (not gerand), Thompson (not tompson), .30 Cal Machine Gun, B.A.R., and it's the KAR-98, not 47. However, the KAR-98 is the grandfather of the AK-47. Do your homework retard.
i dont play wow i envy it i have never played it but am interested in its game mechanics and u are correct about the names though harsh as your analysis was it is fair. by game mechanics i mean the actual coding /macro programs
Now if you started to read this don't stop because it's scary! ok send this to 5 other videos in 143 min. when you're done press F6 and your crushes names will appear on the screen in big letters. this is weird because it works. If you break this you won't have a date for 5 years
Yeah, that is weird. they might just have the two different rows with different objectives, so that the last to go is further along or something. weird.
Ha ha look at you acting like you know what you're talking about. L4 isn't the number, or callsign of the C-47, that's the unit it's part of. There were many C-47s with the L4 on their wings and fuselage.
I am yet to see the series and even so I really wanna own them on DVD, but it fills me with honor and courage to know that thousands of people from around the world gave there life for us to be free, and still that wasnt enought for the world to understand that freedom provails.
Being in a situation like that would suck.

Now if you started to read this don't stop because it's scary! ok send this to 5 other videos in 143 min. when you're done press F6 and your crushes names will appear on the screen in big letters. this is weird because it works. If you break this you won't have a date for 5 years

Whoops I broke it, and the next days four separate girls asked me out.

Back then, liberals defended their country...so sad they wont today.
usmc7242 4 years ago
You mean "defend" it from imaginary weapons? Too bad bin laden is still not in iraq!
simontam777 4 years ago
Sure, they do...they defend it from those who wish to kill Americans pointlessly; Bush.

wateverok 4 years ago
24 when loaded down both sides.
CrazyJoeShirley 4 years ago
why only 10 people on the call out equipment check
wateverok 4 years ago
Yeah, that is weird. they might just have the two different rows with different objectives, so that the last to go is further along or something. weird.
CrazyJoeShirley 4 years ago
ehhhh
wateverok 4 years ago
They might have left empty seats. With all the stuff they were carrying they would have needed two seats each
CrazyJoeShirley 4 years ago

jeez it sucks how the guys in the c-47 L4 start to burn alive when the engine got hit by AA guns
pelican1170 4 years ago
Ha ha look at you acting like you know what you're talking about. L4 isn't the number, or callsign of the C-47, that's the unit it's part of. There were many C-47s with the L4 on their wings and fuselage.
BobbyDobby 4 years ago
so...you can still recognize it by L4

Janne358 4 years ago
I am yet to see the series and even so I really wanna own them on DVD, but it fills me with honor and courage to know that thousands of people from around the world gave there life for us to be free, and still that wasnt enought for the world to understand that freedom provails.
