Still can't believe Gloria Monty and General Hospital got away with this--she married her rapist!!!! Where was the rage??????? Interesting how 25 years later Lucky found out about it and questioned Laura and his father about it and it raised up all the emotions and pain that was overlooked in a substantive way in 1981. Monty wanted the ratings...to hell with the moral/psychological implications. Luke should have been jailed for his actions!

@dwood37 Monty never meant for Geary to stay on at GH. He was supposed to be on for just 8 weeks.

After Raping Laura, Luke was supposed to be written off.

L&L was like an obsession to the fans. They were outrageously popular.

At that time, viewers did question the rape, but it was written in such a way that it was date rape; but rape it was.

When L&L became outrageously popular, the powers that be at GH backpedaled about the rape.

NO ONE CONDONED THE RAPE!!!!!!
