  • Mantronix was def 1 of the best to do it! no question! Reminiscing damn!

  • KILLER!

  • mantronix cool calm collective thats all i got to say!!!!!!!!

  • Every Lunchroom in the hood had someone playing this beat on the table while someone was tryng to freestyle. This was when you could hit the table and play a beat with your hands and everyone knew what song it was you were pounding on the table

  • @REGINALD0205 - Long before every song sounded the same. Every "rapper" sounded the same, and Autotune descended on us like a plague.

If I had 1 million thumbs to put up for this comment, it STILL wouldn't be enough. Thank you for the lunchroom memory. :-)

  • trying not to upset the neighbors with this one but playing it as loud as i dare LOL';-)

  • Jam to the beat.

  • DOPE

  • Jamaican/Haitian group...HAHA ya'll aint know dat

  • bit missing from the end....I've got the original 12" too....; ) great track......!!

  • Mantronix signed with Capitol Records in 1987 after 2 albulms, in what was one of the first 7figure deals for a hip-hop group, and released In Full Effect in 1988 which was the first album to be mastered from DAT instead of reel-to-reel tape.reaching #18 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart Mantronix's highest showing for an album. In Full Effect marked the last Mantronix album with rapper MC Tee, who left the group to enlist in the United States Air Force

  • real hip-hop all you fucking thugs and disrespectful clowns.stop talking shit about music from the 80's is garbage and you guys are old and all that non sense.this is the "newcleus" of hip-hop.rapping about your dick, bitch, strip club, car, money, gun, beef & other stupid shit is'nt rap it's crap.i don't wanna hear that shit about every era has it's own music, because this new shit as of february 2010 is not hip-hop.lil wayne, gucci man, souljah boy, give me a break man repetitive garbage.

  • @str8outtatexas1 I agree to lack of talent and true artistry rappin bout that wack material shit.

  • "... and to prescribe some game for the ladies BECAUSE!!!....." CLASSIC hip-hop track, 5 stars!!!!! The real sound of the streets, the Big Beat hittin, NO MELODY, no music at all!!! Pure beats and rhymes!!! Crime Master Tee is so dope, his style is like a male Shante with the pitch, and E Double with the pronunciation. LOVE THE BREAKDOWNS!!!!

  • Dominant as my Color!!!

  • I could never understand what the hell MC Tee was saying lol. Nevertheless one of my all time fave rap duos

  • @ceplea

I agree, he sounds like hes got a lisp or some sort of speech impedimant but he flows to the beat, Chep Nunez (King of the Edit) & Kurtis Mantronik one of the all time great producers

  • @liferasta1

i thought it was omar santana who did mantoniks edits?

  • i was fourteen years old when this came out. i rocked to it then and i still rock to it. this is timeless. long live true hiphop.peace to all the b-boys and b-girls in the place to be.

  • Oh man. Been lookin for this song for so long. Favorite growin up years ago, but for the life of me I cound't remember the name or who sung it.

    Great fuking day today. lol

  • there's no better feeling in my opinion, even better than sex which probably says a lot about my love life haha. i've found so many of my forgotten classics since this website started, god bless youtube!

  • This still sounds good

  • old school baby!

  • So great

  • FuckinG NICE!

  • Fresh is DA word! if yall noticed at the end its a one two by biz markie!, if anybody would please uploaded, me and im sure a bunch of over 36 crowd would appriciate it!

  • it will never be THIS fresh again

  • @thatsh Actually, it can be THIS fresh again if humans change their ways and have consensus to go back to square one in the world of music with regard to old school theory as the standard. In fact, if you read my previous comment, you will notice that if you follow Einstein's work, things will indeed be the fresh again because the past really was/is the future and vice versa... bet

  • @YFLOInternational Word up, YFLO.....You recognized the Professor of Freshness that Einstein truly was, as well as almost making me fall off my fucking chair laughing! Its funny, because its true.

Galileo in Crescendo, with Darwin too,

    Bringing Fresh new theories

    To the Mantronix crew

    LMAO.

  • @CaptainKubla indeed. 1

  • @thatsh. Hell no!!! Real Hip Hop has been ruined.

  • @thatsh WORD!

  • @thatsh peace. you could be right.

  • @thatsh

I could not agree with you MORE!!

  • Remember when this came out, everybody was playing this. Got to give up to Hatian brother Mc Tee and my Jamaican brother Mantronic.

  • the youngsters dont know about real rap a good dj and mc not a just stupid repetitive hook and a stupid finger snappin dance

  • E-40 sampled this beat .....that cut with Turf Talk..i was wondering where it came from........Thats fresh! old school hip hop rules.....rap now is sad :(

  • King of the Beats!!!!!

  • the best use of a cow bell in all of music :)

  • the blacks puerto ricans and the white people too

  • Man, I can't count how many times I made the mistake of putting this one on at a party and the TT was still on 33, LOL. This was/is a GREAT jam!

  • This song was only meant for boom boxes with some REAL bass. If yours weren't carrying at least 100+ watts, you didn't bother playing this song outside your house because someone else would show up with theirs and drown yours out...

  • This shit use to crank! Mantronix and my man MC TEE, T La Rock "It's Yours"!

  • I had the instrumental slowed down (chopped and screwed now) back in the 80's.

  • me too, where did that shit come from? i'm too old 2 remember! It's like the backscratch Roxanne by UTFO...they jus appear.

  • this was my shit back in the day. Classic. Great post playa.

  • i used to love and dance tis song, old school rap that bring memories,i never know if he's haitian

  • long live sleeping bag records...

  • hear that 808 drum machine kicking the beats, mantronix was a master!!! and mc Tee could rap, the flare of the original old skool lives on!!!! well done funky for post this toon!!!! big up!

  • Loooooooooooooooong live ol'school hiphop. This is where it's at and nowhere else. This is 7000% authentic hiphop in your face all day and fucking night you newschool bitch. All young bucks just sit back and take notes on what real hiphop is.

  • Mantronix is Music Madness!!! Word!!

  • Well back in the days MC Tee and Mantronix ended their togetherness becaurse of differences in opinions that couldn't be overcome... But they set a whole new standard in the Hip Hop scene, especially Mantronix with all the other artists which he also did and made big dance hits for the clubs from wich quite a few also hit the mainstream charts. :)

  • I had the TAPE of this!!! LOL Was the shit for back then.... LOL what ever happend to them?

  • Old skool hip hop man.

Needle to the groove got me into Mantronix years ago, and I still love em.

    Bring back M.C. Tee

  • Hip-Hop in its pure form... 88.3 Saturday nites with the poor signal and the cassette tapes recording everything they played...

  • Real hip hop ya'll! This dat shit!

  • mantronix's voice is a godly gift made for fast raps

  • Ultimate old school hip-hop. I still bump this in the caddy.

  • CRIMEMASTER T WAS VERY UNDERRATED

  • BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE

  • I feel bless...whatta tune, after 25 years i can listen it again, Yo ENCORBREAK, That radio station MAGIC 102 FM in Houston, Tx.

Men I used to listen it on nights with a poor signal of course because, I live in Tampico, Mx. is almost 900 miles far from your town, great memories. Peace Y´all.

  • this was the shit!!!!!!

  • How can you not nod your head to this?

  • Bye ya'll. I'm going back to the 80's. See ya!

  • yo encorbreak i hear what your sayin growin up in downham[uk]it was all jungle/hardcore/garage i used to get cunted off for likeing rap/breaks but now its the [in] thing my how the tables have turned

  • Growing up in Houston with a red-neck dad. A white kid gets dissoned. It was worth it. Thanks to Magic 102 FM- This song changed my life. 5 Years later I was goin to school with a clock around my neck singin "Bring the noise" and "F--k-The Police" Ah the memories. This song made me want to not be the sterio-typical white guy. Thats what it meant to me.

  • I Love You..That was Hip Hop

  • you just hdme dying laugfing

  • i wuz in da 6th grade when dis came out. a dude use to ride throu da hood bumpin' dis with 6x9s tweetin', it wuz da shit.

  • Mantronix best beatmaker of ALL time IMO!

Helped Set the Standards for beat production.

His ideas concepts and styles are implemented to this day.

On the Ave this song bumping from a car caused all b-boys to take their stance,

In the club, this song instantly spawned break battles,

I personally love the 808 BUMP, and the cowbells, MC TEE is the shit and a perfect accent to theses flawless beats!

For the time the complexity of his beats were groundbreaking!

    Long live MANTRONIX

  • ...gotta love that 808 cowbell - mantronik - on the very short list of TOP hip hop producers...

  • mantronix and just-ice held sleeping bag records down

  • While I will not disagree with the contributions of Mantronix and Just-ice, technically while Mantronix was on Sleeping Bag (the Koala!), Just-Ice was on FRESH records. Perhaps for marketing reasons, seems that the "dance"/freestyle acts were more so on Sleeping Bag, and the Rap acts were on FRESH- 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other :)

  • Breakin and rap battles come to mind when I hear this timeless classic! Thanks for posting one of the groups, who should be put in the Hip Hop Honors sometime in the near future! Peace to all music lovers and real hip hop lovers!

  • Bond is my word, this is some hott shitt!!

  • Thanks for postin' this classic!

  • All time classic jam, timeless. Everyone in the Town was bumping this, every car that rolled by. Ah mayne those were the days...1

  • sexy hip hop vinyl

  • BLOWN WOOFERS!!!!!

  • nice dude thnx!

  • I grew up with this...Man. Sweet!!

  • this use to the song i played when i battled...the loudest car systems....the bass is off the chain...ockness1
