  • Thanks for the imput. Much appreciated! I have a 2003 G35 sedan that I am starting to modify. Currently I have a Stillen Exhaust, Kinetix Racing Intake manifold, and a HKS Ignition Amplifier. I'm looking at getting an intake, high flow cats and headers. Would like to get a custom tune too. How much did the Uprev tune cost?

  • @WickedG35

Well, the Uprev Osiris (w/ their Cipher cable and software) costs about $400 or so and comes with 3 free eTunes. But I went ahead and got mine dyno tuned by them in Austin for about $200, I think.

So all in all, if you do things just like I did, it's about $600-$700. While it's a little expensive, I can definitely say it's worth every penny.

  • Hey quick question. I saw in your other videos, you had a JWT Popcharger, now you have a K&N Drop in. Which one do you like better? Also, which has better sound and performance? Thanks!

  • Well, once I got all of my intake mods (MREV, Spacer), the JWT developed a pretty loud whistling sound, and I grew to dislike it. That, and I began reading about the tremendous heat absorption issues that it has, being pretty much unshielded in the middle of a hot engine bay. As a result, I swapped over to the K&N drop in.

While I don't have dynos to prove it, I feel like the JWT probably gave a little more in the top end, but the heat absorption issues really did it in.

With an intake so exposed to a hot engine bay, it just sucks in hot air while idling, so you can actually end up losing about 15whp for the first 4 seconds or so of a launch due to the temperature of the air being sucked in until cooler air begins to circulate. The K&N doesn't really have this problem.

As for sound, the JWT gives more of a raw engine noise, making it sound more aggressive. The K&N is a lot more reserved.

Overall, I think the K&N with an 06 airbox is probably the best.

  • Sounds good man! Love the car too. Looks clean. Nice videos as well!

  • Thanks :D

  • Just wanted to get a few flyby clips of my current setup online before next week when I get my new Motordyne ART pipes. Thanks for watching, and let me know what you think!
