  • This looks like a great sim. One of these days i will have to get MSTS again. This route feels like the Ozarks I know, might need a few more trees but it still looks GREAT!

  • Hey there,

I Have this Route and I give this 100% too. I would like to know which sounds you used to replace the shay, and can you give me a list of songs you used in this video.

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • The Grade at Roaring camp is way worse then 4%

  • I like the song around 5:00

  • Is 278 GB enougth for this route?

  • @nkproad777 More than enough. My entire MSTS installation is probably 40-50 GB right now.

  • Man, I got to get this. These are the best msts steam locos ever!

  • Hi. I don't get what these simulators do. What happens once you buy the video? Does it just replay the same video over and over, or is there some kind of interaction and game playing? Any info appreciated.

  • @avlisk A simulator is not a video. It's a game. Once you own the game and install it, you're able to drive trains.

  • I like how at 6:50 on the hill side their is a train tiped over!

  • Wow this is cool. By the way is that a Sierra Number 3 I see in there? That Rodgers 4-6-0 sure looks like it.

  • @Plokman040 All of those locomotives are Ozark Northern.

  • @trmania I understand that. I meant that that the Rodgers 4-6-0 in this has a model I'm sure is based off Sierra #3. The one that has the Rodgers stamp on its Cylinder.

  • @trmania Yes, but you have to admit, bears some resemblance.

  • Wher can you get this Route at ?

  • Simply awesome! This route models almost to a tee what I'm doing in the garden with live steam right now, a really fitting tribute to the glory days of steam railroading!

  • i love the Bloopers at the very end.

Hey I got a question for you?? Do you have Raildriver do u think you can do a video on raildriver? With some different routes. I have raildriver it makes MSTS so much more better to play!!!!!

  • Very nice.

  • Actually, for every mile travelled while climbing a 4% grade, you just climbed approximately 211 feet.

  • Where did you get the camera file for MSTS.

  • Many different sources. It's a mashing of different releases, along with my own changes.

  • did anyone else notice the car that fell off the trestle at 6:46

  • what is this song

  • Read the credits. You didn't specify which one.

  • i thought it was like a music vid never watched the wole thing just like 1 secs

  • nice song cut out the train audio though

  • Hey Nick,

    What are your computer specs?

  • This route looks fun!

  • The guy who created this route, Andre Ming, does a great job with the activities. His other 2 routes, the "St. Louis & North Arkansas", and the "Arkansas & Ozarks Subdivision" are also great and fun to run. Definitely some of the best value for their prices out there.

  • wats the movie maker u use":?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0

  • Thanks!

  • how much is it?

  • 30 Dollars

  • where can i get the shay sounds on MSTS can you give me a link

  • Search "Oregon Climax" in the T-S File Library. The sounds included are the ones I used.

  • what did you record with

  • Fraps

  • how did you shoot so smooth and i bought this and you are right this is a great thing to buy

  • You need a powerful-enough computer to not lag while recording.

  • do the trains come with the route plz reply so i can buy as soon as possible

  • yes, the trains do come with the route.

  • nice review! you really convinced me to buy this

  • before buying this for me does the trains and railcars come with the route itself

  • I am SO BUYING THIS thx for telling me about this

  • is this MSTS

  • Is it just me, or is this the definition of fantastcc? An amazing route, really brings a great throwback feel from over 100 years ago.

  • I got it, installed it and you're completely right!

  • 3:38 how does that train move? I dont see any weels.

  • It's a Shay. The wheels are behind the drive shaft.

  • I just got this and am installing it now! I can't WAIT!

  • where did you get the Railroad Pioneer music from? i want it!

  • I own the game.

  • okay, i do too, how do you get it off the game?

  • It's in a folder called "Music" in the game's directory. Search for a file called "title.ogg". Then, use a program called "Switch Sound File Converter" to change it from OGG to MP3.

  • thanks dude

  • also so other people can here it, i uploaded it in video format...wth one of my pictures

  • is this route a narrow gauge?

  • No, it's standard gauge.

  • great review nick. Thanks to you I'm now officially going to buy this route after My copy of the North Arkansas comes in the mail.

  • never mind

  • what is the song at the begining

  • Damn it Nick, you're always tempting me to go back with MSTS with these reviews.

Simply stunning route, and a review that gives its awesomeness as much justice. Platinum route, and apparently, platinum review

  • reminds me of the MA&PA

  • railroad pioneer music, awesome

  • It isn't ScaleRail, but the track is perfect for the setting. This route is a great way to learn more about it.

  • Beautiful video for a beautiful route! Now when you said 'proto-fictional' or whatever the term was - you did a shot at the begining and near the end that was near verbatim to a Ansel Adams photo I had seen. The dirt trackbeds look fantastic. Is that ScaleRail they're using? Great job on the shay sounds too BTW. I know little about 19th century railroading as well. But this route and review make me want to learn it tout-sweet! :)

  • O MY GOSH! 100%!!!!!!!!

  • That route looks absolutly amazing, It's just a shame that MSTS doesn't work on Vista or I would go and get that route right now

  • I'm pretty sure it can work on vista. If you're having problems, try going to T-S and asking around.

  • Turns out It Does work on Vista, I guess I never tried before hand

  • It does, but sometimes it freezes up, so just try and find the error. For me, it's usually a piece of equipment. BTW: I am tempted to buy the route as well! I am more into modern stuff, but this is one kind of good exception! Excellent review by the way.

  • it doesn't work on vista? really? In that case i'm keepin the current computer

  • It does work on Vista, but I still prefer XP.

  • do you think that maybe you could give me that railroad pioneer theme? I had the game and I never could figure out how to get that track

  • So what do ya think... should I buy this or shouldn't I?

  • I wholeheartedly recommend it, so yes.

  • in that case, im buying it tonite

  • Excellent, but you did miss one thing; frame rate, i see a lot of scenery, and in a couple parts i saw very low frame rate.

    overall a good review

  • Fraps slows the framerate down. On its own, the Ozark Northern is very smooth.

  • Even though i dont like 19th century style railraoding, this looks EPIC!! Nice review man!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • I love this route! :D Nice review dude!

  • Thanks!
