This looks like a great sim. One of these days i will have to get MSTS again. This route feels like the Ozarks I know, might need a few more trees but it still looks GREAT!
I Have this Route and I give this 100% too. I would like to know which sounds you used to replace the shay, and can you give me a list of songs you used in this video.
Hi. I don't get what these simulators do. What happens once you buy the video? Does it just replay the same video over and over, or is there some kind of interaction and game playing? Any info appreciated.
@trmania I understand that. I meant that that the Rodgers 4-6-0 in this has a model I'm sure is based off Sierra #3. The one that has the Rodgers stamp on its Cylinder.
Simply awesome! This route models almost to a tee what I'm doing in the garden with live steam right now, a really fitting tribute to the glory days of steam railroading!
Hey I got a question for you?? Do you have Raildriver do u think you can do a video on raildriver? With some different routes. I have raildriver it makes MSTS so much more better to play!!!!!
The guy who created this route, Andre Ming, does a great job with the activities. His other 2 routes, the "St. Louis & North Arkansas", and the "Arkansas & Ozarks Subdivision" are also great and fun to run. Definitely some of the best value for their prices out there.
It's in a folder called "Music" in the game's directory. Search for a file called "title.ogg". Then, use a program called "Switch Sound File Converter" to change it from OGG to MP3.
Beautiful video for a beautiful route! Now when you said 'proto-fictional' or whatever the term was - you did a shot at the begining and near the end that was near verbatim to a Ansel Adams photo I had seen. The dirt trackbeds look fantastic. Is that ScaleRail they're using? Great job on the shay sounds too BTW. I know little about 19th century railroading as well. But this route and review make me want to learn it tout-sweet! :)
It does, but sometimes it freezes up, so just try and find the error. For me, it's usually a piece of equipment. BTW: I am tempted to buy the route as well! I am more into modern stuff, but this is one kind of good exception! Excellent review by the way.

@nkproad777 More than enough. My entire MSTS installation is probably 40-50 GB right now.

@avlisk A simulator is not a video. It's a game. Once you own the game and install it, you're able to drive trains.

I like how at 6:50 on the hill side their is a train tiped over!

Wow this is cool. By the way is that a Sierra Number 3 I see in there? That Rodgers 4-6-0 sure looks like it.
Plokman040 1 year ago
@Plokman040 All of those locomotives are Ozark Northern.

Actually, for every mile travelled while climbing a 4% grade, you just climbed approximately 211 feet.

Where did you get the camera file for MSTS.
TheAreotrain 2 years ago
Many different sources. It's a mashing of different releases, along with my own changes.

It isn't ScaleRail, but the track is perfect for the setting. This route is a great way to learn more about it.

That route looks absolutly amazing, It's just a shame that MSTS doesn't work on Vista or I would go and get that route right now
spacewizard1 2 years ago
I'm pretty sure it can work on vista. If you're having problems, try going to T-S and asking around.
trmania 2 years ago
Turns out It Does work on Vista, I guess I never tried before hand

do you think that maybe you could give me that railroad pioneer theme? I had the game and I never could figure out how to get that track
joeferrito 2 years ago
So what do ya think... should I buy this or shouldn't I?
joeferrito 2 years ago
I wholeheartedly recommend it, so yes.
trmania 2 years ago
in that case, im buying it tonite
joeferrito 2 years ago
Excellent, but you did miss one thing; frame rate, i see a lot of scenery, and in a couple parts i saw very low frame rate.
overall a good review

Fraps slows the framerate down. On its own, the Ozark Northern is very smooth.
