I have a 2009 MacBook pro, not Mac pro, and I've been considering a 2006'model with 8GB Ram 1.25TB and 2xDual Core 2.66Ghz and a 5770. Ya think it would be faster?
@TheAppleReviewGuy I recommend benchmarking your MBP and looking up some Mac Pro results with those specs, ATM my bottleneck is my HD (from the test I've done I've upgrade to a HD6870 video card.)
@TheAppleReviewGuy Look for a 2008 model, there's a bunch of them on eBay. That's when you start to see silly specs like 8 cores at 3.2GHz and so on lol. Ignore the RAM and so on, go for the best CPU's then get the RAM afterwards, should save you a little then.
@JoeRCruso good :D (I did it to compensate for the camera work, give my self some headroom to move the shot around and reframe it myself when editing.)
@FutureInventions plug it in, and put your hand on the handle for about 15 seconds, keep your hand there, and unplug the cord, then remove your hand. Should reduce risk of static and what not.

@KNIGHTxPILOT I'm getting a Radeon 6870. It's not fully supported, but still works. The CPU is dual 2.66GHz dual cores (quadcore)
I might do a Holiday Hardware Hacking video (like Adiblasi) upgrading to Dual 3.0GHz Quadcores (8 cores total)
