Might want to wear gloves to have aseptic technique

you're not supposed to shake the loop to cool it...that only picks up more bacteria in the air and can ruin your slide and your culture.

you need to place your loop back into the flame before you go back for each loopful of broth because your slide is not sterile and will contaminate your culture
