@DiddyTheDuck2 I think I cracked why, having listened to it about 50 times now since I enjoy it so much. In this version he seems to elongate the words at the end of every phrase : so instead of "each other at all" he goes "each oooother aaaaat aaaaall" like he's caressing the song, its fantastic!

@SPeacock, I've seen that, and it's one of "Top Gear"'s funniest Genesis moments. BTW, Jeremy Clarkson is a diehard Genesis fan and even wrote liner notes on one of their box sets.

According to Wikipedia (even though it isn't printed in the liner notes), this live performance of "In Too Deep" was done in L.A. at the Forum in October 1986 on Genesis' "Invisible Touch" tour. The bulk of the "Way We Walk" CDs were done in Hanover, Germany in July 1992. Others are from performances from Stevenage, UK in August and the Wembley Stadium concert in August 1987.

If you do have In Too Deep on there as part of the Wembley performance, it was added from another venue. They did not play In Too Deep at any of the 4 Wembley gigs. I know because I know several people who were there spanning all 4 dates at Wembley and In Too Deep was not played. Apparently it had been dropped from the set well before the Wembley performances happened.

This song is used to great effect in an 80's British film titled "Mona Lisa".

Film is about an ex-con who is hired as a limo driver for a high priced call girl. Eventually he falls for her and agrees to help her rescue a runaway teen as they navigate through London's shady underworld.

Amazing film and I highly recommend it to anyone who can watch a film that doesn't feature explosions and gunfights every 2 seconds.

Sorry, but this version is from the Invisible Touch Tour in 1986/87 and not from the 92 tour.

"The Shorts" and "The Longs" are almost all from the 92 tour, but "Mama", "That's All" and "In Too Deep" are recorded in 1986/87.

Nevertheless this live version is great and I would love to see a live video of it.
