LOL! The MSA (Minimum Safe Altitude) is 12,900', not the actual altitude. There's no way a 737 is going to do 448 kts at 12,900', even with a tailwind! I'm sure it was up at cruise altitudes in the mid-30's. Actually, if you look at 3:00, you can see that it's doing about 298 kts at about that same actual altitude.
That altitude looks inaccurate... 146nm from the destination, you should still be at cruise altitude. Is the device inaccurate or was the pilot buzzing control towers?
@chuckt101 Altitude wasn't 12900 ft at 146NM out. It says MSA 12900 feet. MSA definition: The Minimum Sector Altitude (MSA) is the lowest altitude which may be used which will provide a minimum clearance of 300 m (1 000 ft) above all objects located in the area contained within a sector of a circle of 46 km (25 NM) radius centred on a radio aid to navigation.
cruise speed is 514 mph... .78 mac at 41k

@bullene Yeah it was really cool to see. I fly a 172 so it was nice to see this thing go past 110 knots with a tail wind.
