  • I didn't know that Stephen had directed any films. I suppose they don't tend to cross the pond.

  • if only I could speak as beautifully as Stephen, to have all of those words and be able to dance them out of my mouth the way he does... I could rule the world!

  • country house!!!!

  • The UK is amazing the way domeones sexuality is not a problem i am actually a strong christian and so being gay is a sin but then so os lying or stealing a pencil so why should we treat homosexuals any differently from anyone else GOD BLESS STPHEN AND THE UK

  • @yummyotter45 Bro you aren't a Sin :-) Good luck with everything

  • bad movie, bright young thinks

  • who are they talking about after 5:30?

  • @greengrendel Angus Deayton, he was the presenter of 'Have i got news for you', until he slept with a prostitute..they're just talking about how it all became known to the press and public.

  • i would love to listen to him talk until i fall asleep.

  • I wonder if Jonathan has a fwend named Biggus DIckus.

  • @jerryhello100 xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!

  • @TAfan2 I want him fighting wabid wild animals within a week.

  • @jerryhello100 He'd pwobably get his head cut off...

  • "please welcome Mr Stephen Fly"

  • Brilliant interview! Much as I love Stephen Fry's nice, fluffy QI persona, he's never quite as hilarious as when he insults people.

  • The Beach isn't so bad.

  • "woof....like that!"

  • damn this is old...

  • As an accidental American, I'm always amazed at how nonchalantly Stephen Fry's sexuality is dealt with by his fellow british talking into microphone on television type persons, and as much as I'd like to generally credit the audience, I think his own graceful nonchalance is a kind of cultural force unto itself. I guess I'm saying that as much as one would expect as an awkward, overweight, formerly celibate gay atheist intellectual to lack role models, one doesn't. And other people like him too??

  • I hate to give such a short statement but....

Things are different in the UK when it comes to homosexuality. Nobody is seen differently.

  • And of-course the same with Atheism. A massive percentage of the UK is Atheist, and we don't see the problem.

  • @milsp accidental american? what does this mean lol

  • @finnwesjohn can you be one on purpose?

  • @EmmaB3545 this comment increased my confusion

  • @finnwesjohn then my job is done

  • stephen fry for PM!!!!

bit harsh calling ross a prick lol

  • Are opinions irrelevant?

  • Is that Eddie Izzard beside him?

  • If you mean in the green room, it's Julian Clary. And during the interview, the guy sitting next to him on the couch is Andy Davies, the producer and co-presenter of Jonathan's radio show.

  • Thanks very much.

  • Um, no, it's really not. I have the whole show and Jonathan presents him right at the start as Andy Davies. :)

  • So the Johnathan's Mate who use to sit on the guest sette at the start 7 finish of the Show is Andy Davies?

When was the last time he ever appeared on the Chat show & why doesn't he anymore?

  • someone tell me wat "barrowboy" means please?

  • Comment removed

  • "Borough boy" i think... Ross is cockney (accent and presumably he is from East London- originally as well).

  • they sold produce in markets but couldnt afford a stall or just didnt have one. they carried all their stuff in wheelbarrows. they are the people who invented cockney rhyming slang. they were just about the lowest class of london society.

  • It means seller/trader/monger-someone pushing a product.

  • Have you noticed that they dont have the earlier guests stay on the couch throughtout the show anymore?Wonder why they stopped

  • loadz of people like him i think cause he can make u laugh, I think thats really kl that for once a famous person is liked not for being fake :)

  • bless 'im!

  • Who's the spare part on the couch?

  • lol

  • He was cheerful here, yes (heading for another depressive phase, perhaps?) but far more guarded, just seven years ago, than he is in interviews these days.

It's as if it's just in the past few years that he's really come out, so to speak; Who Do You Think You Are, The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive... it's as if he's finally gained enormously in self-confidence.

    Which is nice

  • I want Stephen to love me :(

  • i would

  • god i always wondered what happened to that joey who used to sit with jonathan lol, he never got a word in

  • lol did sumone else host aswell?

  • JacobTrue, you speak sense sir! :)

  • As much as I love the man, wouldn't it been funny if he bumped his head on the top of that archway?

    Poor Stephen, I'm cruel.

  • He's definitely tall.

  • well-spotted :)

  • 6ft 5"

  • Saying that instantly reveals you to be one of the 90%.

  • I was responding to an accusation from another user.

  • And?

  • I'm clearly not belittling anyone - I'm defending myself.

  • You called 90% of Stephen Fry's fanbase 'pretentious anuses'.

How is that not belittling anyone?

  • shhhhhhhhhh you two im trying to listen

  • He started it.

  • I wouldn't worry about it, I'd say most ikely not only would Fry like this he'd probably laugh and call it "Arse-Gravy" :-D

  • Wow, Six years have passed already.

  • Hmm, the only time I've ever heard Mr. Fry talk about his current love life. I know that being in love is hugely important to him, I suspect it gives him meaning to his life. I hope he and his partner are still together and very happy together. I think he never usually talks about his current love life because he doesn't want the press all over it. Can't blame him!

  • i think they are - i saw him talking about priscilla and he mentioned his partner ( i hope its the same one)

  • i hope i will never see his patrner, or i'll melt in envy, even though i'm a woman. mr Fry is such a wonderful (GB's national treasure i'd say) man and seeing him sove somebody would make my life feel so empty and sad.

  • Gosh what a wonderful man :D

  • i bet you cant wait till he comes on again :P

  • thanks for putting this up, i didn't see it the first time round (i was 12 and hadn't discovered the brilliance of stephen and jonathan - can you imagine?)

  • He does seem incredibly cheerfull and, well, manic, but in a positive way. He's slightly less quick in the latest Ross interview.

  • is it just me or does stephen look like a vicar in this?

  • Thank you for uploading this! I don't know how I missed it.

But who's the other guy sitting next to him?

  • thank you for uploading this gem

    never seen it before

    just brillant

  • Oh bless him! :D What a truly lovely interview.

Also, Wossy is very right there - everyone should love him. Haha!

  • ooh lovely, i hadn't seen this before :)

  • I just love Stephen Fry.

Plus, I had no idea that HE was the voice in the Harry Potter tapes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that just adds to his Amazing Level. I'm thoroughly impressed.

P.S. I can see how "Harry put it in his pocket" would be rather difficult to say.

  • Depending on the version you have of the audio books. Stephen Fry voices the UK version while Jim Dale voices the US version. They are both wonderful versions, I have both versions of all the Harry Potter audiobooks. Both of them do a brilliant job as the voice of the Harry Potter books.
