i was told by somebody who used to work for the diplomatic protection group that the police have secret units that the public have no knowledge of. Kind of like the polices own version of the sas.

Not quite an ARV, they are CO19 equipment carriers which carry heavy equipment for major incidents and raids so alot more rare than a simple ARV. I believe they have flashing headlights and grille lights.
